She took the childrens' hands and followed.

She barely nodded to him. A small gesture of gratitude, but progress.

She eventually turned off, leading them into a fairly small room. A small trench was worn into the ground, likely from repeated pacing over the same spot, and there was a red stain on the ground near the entrance.

"You came here for safety, yes?"

She paled and turned the children away from the stain.

She looked at the room, keeping her face carefully expressionless. "I am keeping the other humans in the entry cave. But you three may use this one for now."
