Even if he and his sister are smart, I'm guessing dragons who associate with humans are few and far between, so there would be very little actually translated

Like how somewhere (I think Sweden) has 12 words for snow, and to translate them into English we don't have words specifically for them but descriptions, so lost in translation is potential as well
