I am the one who was known as the Flame. No need to get mad - I’m already good and dead. You won’t be able to defend against these with just a sliver of the Slumber - my power, pure Chaos, will not be bound with such a thing. You will need the rest of the Slumber. Beware, though. Once one takes it in, it corrupts. Slowly, but corrupts nonetheless. I thought I could excise it - I was wrong.

I've believed in the sweet release of oblivion since I was born. This doesn't dramatically change my worldview.

Great. Now, the Slumber was probably completely expunged from me when I died - my power really does not like chains.

There was a man - a servant of Madness before she was Madness - who harbored some of the Slumber on him when he passed into this world. If he doesn’t have it - then our next best guess is Intellect.

I'm taking some liberties with your world but since none of it ever will matter it's okay. Agony and Joy are the two gods in Jakob's homeworld, Agony is the bringer of shadow and pain, Joy of bliss and light. jakob is of an ethnic group who were notious raiders and worships agony in a sort of death cult. They belived that to live is to be in pain, so being dead isn't a bad thing. Agony would have always anhilated his soul after he died anyway.

Well, considering that the ceiling had collapsed earlier, it’s quite plausible that the ceiling in front of him was not actually above him, and thus he would be able to climb up and get out.
