TwinStorm He/Him Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 I just finished Wheel of Time a couple months ago, and I have a few things to say about it and the ending. It's a piece of art. It's not perfect, and has books that make me want to burn it, but in the end, it has arguably the best conclusion I have ever read. Spoilers obviously. Spoiler AMOL is controversial to me. there are many things that I personally could've done better, but after talking in through with my brother @BridgeBoi, I have to agree that Sanderson/Jordan made the right call on everything, with a few minor issues. One of my major problems with the ending is Perrin. in Towers of Midnight, we had arguable the best fight scene in the series between him and Slayer, and I was so hyped up for their final fight. And it wasn't a fight, it was Perrin beating him into the ground. On my first readthrough I hated this, but afterwards I began to realize that its better, cuz it symbolizes that Perrin is the hunter now, and how hes gone beyond Slayer's strength and master of Tel'aran'rhoid. The next thing is we don't see any of the fourth age and developments in the epilogue, it's just directly after. we don't see Mat or Perrin do their things, and I was annoyed with this at first, but I realized that it would take away the whamph of Rand's survival, and we have a pretty good picture developed of what the world looks like through the visions and things like the Dragon's Peace I'll probably update this/post a pt 2 later, but these are my thoughts for rn 3
