She frowned. "But both groups were wearing masks . . ."

"I don't like the idea of standing around, especially if the dryads have confirmed more bandits are in the area."

She loaded her crossbow, and starting making her way through the trees again. "We should return to the wagons."

Eublech pulled out his blowgun. Too many distance weapons... not good...

Dint prepared his crossbow, and started to stalk back towards the wagons.

Eublech followed him, staying quiet and low to the ground.

lol we're just a sniper team at this point

The wagons were still in the clearing were they'd been left, completely untouched.

The wooden boards creaked in a morning breeze as they approached. Dawn cast strange shadows with the fabric covering.

Lusha climbed up a tree and took cover in the leaves. She would be near impossible to see. She asked its dryad to give her a clear view, which it did. She could see the bandits, yet she was invisible to them.

Perfect.

She drew back the bowstring.

Dint scouted out a good vantage point for his crossbow, and dashed over, examining the trees.

"Stay quiet. I'll approach first, I'm sneaky..." And expendable...

noooo eublech have some self-esteem we love you

Nera nodded, her crossbow at the ready. She watched as he approached, part of her looking for movement on the tree line in case the bandits decided to come back.

He tentatively approached the wagons, his body almost disappearing into the shadows. When he finally reached it he cautiously opened the door, hand on his dagger.

"Whatever you like!" Jerehlu said with a big smile. "I love associates with big goals, it makes the heists more fun--we'll see what we can do about taking on jobs that will land that sort of pay."

Alvar shakes his hand. “Pleasure doing business with you.”

Lol… we need Alvar

In the chaos that followed your alchemical concoction, Alvar is nowhere to be seen. In truth, he stayed back with the bandits to keep his options open. He doesn’t know you all very well, after all.

The scent of tofu, beans, burnt hide, charred antlers, venison, bleached wool, and wet dog assaults the bandit captain's nose, as an invisible Heartache stands on her hind legs and belches in his face out of spite, before she runs over to the bandit closest to the cart and bites him in the neck, dropping invisibility, then running off to feast on her kill.

because being able to run away invisible would just not be balanced, right?

COOL! I assume you did that b4 the bandits fled.

Uuuuhhhh the bandits had captured most of us, and so Dint threw a toxin in the fire to spread fumes, clearing the camp and allowing them to escape. Now we’ve returned to the wagons, and are searching the to see where our employers went. (Right now we are looking for a magical artifact)

This is the red wagon that Lady Genuhk was sleeping in.

Inside, everything is neat and orderly, the bed is made and her pack still sits at the foot of it. The wooden walls are covered in scorch marks.

do you want to rp with them in a separate pov or just have your character be absent for awhile? Either is fine, these bandits will be relevant again soon.

A stick cracks out in the woods, and you all swear you can still hear whispers on the wind. The bandits aren't completely gone, but they're not coming after you all--just watching and waiting.

Not good...

Quietly, she said, "I still think we should take the wagons and get them out of here."

"The horses look out of it . . ." Nera whispered back, rounding the wagon to check on them. They were breathing heavily and their eyes were glazed over. "Dint's gas stuff must've really gotten to them."

Lusha analyzed the wagons. "It looks like my vines could move it."
