“Sorry. Although, I do think any halflings here should hold their breath…” he stares at Lusha. “What have you heard from her?”

@Spark of Hope

He placed a hand under his cloak, finding the right mixture.

She glared at him.

Just now, J. Magi said:

"Ahhhhhhhhhh so that's why you were so against the life of crime thing eh? I suppose you don't still have any old connections? I could use a few less people on my tail."

She wasn't glaring at him, but her gaze was still very intense.

"That's a no, alrighty then I can take a hint," Jerehlu said with a laugh, throwing his hands up.

"Well, I hope the rest of your friends will join us this is going to be terribly fun."

Nera stepped forward because I forgot to do this earlier and yeah. "Yeah, I guess I'll join for now."

"Wonderful!"

“Any other halflings could be toxic… they could cause a wood elf to stop practicing…”

He finds the fire, giving Nera and Lusha quick, meaningful looks.

Nera doesn't notice.

"What are you gettin' at Glamis?" Mami asked.

She didn't look at anyone, though her arms stayed crossed as she stood there.

What's he trying to say?

Dint drops any voice, returning to his elven accent. “This.”

He unstops the vial, dumping its contents into the flame and holding his breath, dashing away from the fire.

Quite literally, Lusha should hold her breath because he is about to release a toxin (not very dangerous, but should allow them to escape) into the air. The reason he mentions their practice is to make her aware of his identity.

Ah

She wasn't dramatic about it, but she stopped breathing.

"Glamis what on earth--" Mami immediately starting coughing as did Nera.

Jerehlu had started running the second his voice had changed, letting out only a small curse.

Several of the bandits in the immediate vicinity fell to the ground choking, but a larger number of them followed Jerehlu and ran.

Lusha wrapped her arms around Nera, and vines grew around her mouth.

"They'll filter the toxins," she muttered.

Dint dashed, getting his crossbow and bolts. “Quick! Let’s go, before they recover!”

Nera mumbled something unintelligible because of the vines. She grabbed her crossbow from a fallen bandit, and then ran over to grab Eublech. @Ancient Elantrian

Jerehlu grinned, "How much do you want?"

Alvar bares his teeth back, in a threatening manner intended to resemble a grin just enough that you can feign innocence if you’re called on it. “I doubt I can truly spend whatever you’ll give me, at least until you trust me enough to let me go. Whatever passes for room and board, a bit of money - enough that by around the time I could leave I’d be set for a few years, and a sorcerer - preferably one that’d actually be willing to train me.”
Edit: I’m several minutes in the past, but the response to this would heavily affect how Alvar would act.

What happened?

To his knowledge, Eublech was still pinned on the floor.

He was a bit behind the times.

yeh, I tried to stall but this bit can just happen in the past

"Whatever you like!" Jerehlu said with a big smile. "I love associates with big goals, it makes the heists more fun--we'll see what we can do about taking on jobs that will land that sort of pay."

Nera grabbed his arm and pulled him away, after Dint. Luckily the bandits hadn't tied him up yet.

After a only a few minutes they were in the woods outside of the camp, the air was much clearer here.

Distant yells and the sounds of chaos still came from the camp, but it slowly quieted as they cleared out in the other direction.

Dint looked at them. “What’s our next step? Does anyone know where our employers went?”

Nera shook her head, "Lusha checked the wagons for the bandit leader and there was no one inside . . . they must've heard the bandits and made a run for it or something."

"What's the point if their not with us to see us do it?" Nera asked, "Plus they might be pissed if we leave them behind, running off without telling anyone could be a test."

"I thought something similar. I thought maybe they were hiding among the bandits, but I didn't see them. Besides, they know where we're going. If we have any hope of getting this job, we need to get the wagons and their contents to the destination."
