"It's fine, I get it. It can be hard to deal with people who disrespect you because of what you are." She patted her own head to emphasize her halfling build.

Dint glared at them. They were wrong, in assuming he was racist. This was just how he acted. Ever since he was exiled. “Perhaps you may consider that I am not disrespecting you because you are a nymph?”

For clarification he thinks of most people as frivolous. It’s less he assumes one to be serious and then grows to think of them as frivolous, and more he assumes anyone and everyone to be frivolous and grows to think they are serious.

He doesn’t like jokes.

Nera shrugged. "It could have been honorable to them. Maybe they have families to support or something, I mean our caravan is the Lord Elhu's . . . if there would be anyone to rob and not feel bad about it, it'd be him."

She glanced at the wagons on the edge of the camp where Lady Genuhk was sleeping, and cleared her throat loudly. "Not that I'd support that sort of behavior of course."

“My father is militarily involved, so I have essentially the same sense of honor as him. This doesn’t quite qualify, at least in my view.”

“Does it matter if they had honorable cause? They were attacking us and our charge. We defended ourselves. This is how things go.

"Of course, we had every right to do what we did. I mentioned their potential honorable cause because Lusha and I were talking about how It would be disrespectful to use their bodies as targets, and honor came up."

“If it’s disrespectful to use their bodies as targets, why should their honor factor in? It sounds as if you are attempting to assign worth to lives.” Dint said this, a foul taste in his mouth. He particularly disliked hypocrisy.

"Like I said," Nera said, growing annoyed. "Lusha was the one who brought up honor and I merely suggested the chance that the burglars had some. I was not implying that honor had anything to do with whether the bodies should or shouldn't be disrespected. I'd be wholeheartedly against it even if I knew everyone one of them had a black heart."

“Yes. I was more referring to Lusha’s mention of honor. I was speaking to both of you, not just you.” Dint stared at them, a completely expressionless face.

Heartache returns, with a pair of fluffy dragon wings at her side.

"Nothing quite like a hunt in the forest, eh?" she states, using her tails as a blanket.

Alvar listens to the in his opinion irrelevant argument, and decides that even if it doesn’t matter, choosing a side would alienate another team member. That would be probably. Intimidating another team member, on the other hand, would be fine. “I’m sure you’re all having fun arguing, but we were practicing, if you recall. I was thinking I’d stop crossbow practice, but I still need a target. Any volunteers?” He smiles his many toothed bloody smile, then flicks his wrist. The valve set in the sleeve of his leather armor opens, and he directs and freezes water into a jagged blade. “There’s not benefit to actually hurting each other, so I’ll spar to whatever metric a challenger wants, assuming it’s fair.”

Depending upon online times and how willing the combatants players are to have their characters actually take hits, this could take a while. Feel free to interrupt it, J. Magi.

Dint gave him a look. Frivolous.

”I’m not the best with close quarters. I have daggers, but… I’d be willing if you need the practice.”

“I’d be willing to spar with blunt tips.”

Alvar focuses and the blade’s points melt, then refreeze as rounded tips.

Lusha dropped her quiver with her things and grabbed a second. Small moss balls replaced the arrowheads on the ends.

"You're going to do close combat sparring with a crossbow?" She asked not sure if she understood. "That doesn't sound like a good idea to me."

“Sword on crossbow? I suppose that works - it’s better practice for what happened, anyway. Thirty feet apart, do you think? Or fifty through the trees, your choice. You have magic, correct? I won’t use mine if you don’t use yours. Except for maintaining this blade, of course.”

Alvar looks between Nera, the crossbow he’d set down, and the sparring ice blade he had in his hand. “I’ve done enough crossbow practice for tonight - we don’t have enough time to make me an expert shot. So I’m switching gears.”

Just a regular bow for her

“No magic,” she agreed. “I’m fine with either distance.”

“Wouldn’t it be better to use the magic?”

“Fifty, then. That matches better our circumstances. You know what, I’ll play a bandit. You have to stop me from both ‘killing’ you, and from reaching the wagon.” Alvar walks off into the woods, getting behind a tree at around fifty feet.

“Practice without it is important, in case you don’t have access to magic for some reason. And honing skills individually is valuable in all cases. You can be the referee, if you’d like.”

She drew back her bow string. Her eyes and ears were great at their respective tasks. This wouldn’t be hard.

Dint nodded. “I agree with what you are saying. But do not forget to train them in tandem as well. The best offensive uses everything you can throw at them. But, I understand why not here. I will referee. Are you both ready?”

She nodded, bowstring by the tip of her pointy ear.

"Well . . . alright then." She said.

Nera moved out of the way and sat on a nearby log to watch.
