I know that forgery doesn't work on ralkalest but I was wondering if a forger could make a stamp out of it. It's been said that the actual material used to make a stamp doesn't matter (although some materials are better because they can be carved more exactly.

Interesting question... the answer might tell us some interesting things.

I would suspect you can, much like aluminum cannot be affected by allomancy, but is still an allomantic metal.

Interesting idea. I'd say probably since the material of the stamp doesn't seem to be relevant. Soulstone is just very easy to carve. The Investiture is in the symbology not the physical stamp. Not really sure why you'd want to but it makes sense that you could.

I agree. I think you probably could, but it might have some interesting side effects.

@Outis, I was pretty sure that ralkalest was just the local name for aluminum.

Do we have any evidence for this? It's an interesting idea, that aluminum has null properties to other forms of Investiture, not only in relation to Allomancy.

This is widely assumed, and I happen to agree, but to the best of my knowledge it has not been proven.

It makes sense, it's just not something I ever considered. It would fit given that we know from her talking about breaking out that Ralkalest is a soft metal with a  low melting point at least.

We have a WOB that aluminum is just weird throughout the Cosmere. I'm not even sure that it is one of the sixteen basic Allomantic metals, but that's a discussion for another time.

If ralkalest does turn out to be aluminum, then I think a stamp could be made of aluminum but that one couldn't stamp a piece of aluminum. After all, aluminum can be created by Soulcasting, but I would guess that it can't be Soulcast into something else.

I guess someone needs to ask Brandon this.

Wait, is Ralkalest even referred to as a metal? It's been a while since I've read Emperor's Soul, but I seem to remember it being referred to as a stone. I could be wrong though.

Yes, it´s described as a metal that has similar properties to Aluminum, both magical and physical, which is why many assume it´s the same.

I thought that it said that Ralkalest was brittle, and Aluminum is very pliable. It is the "Unforgeable Element" and the "Unforgeable Metal" alternately.
