later that night roy walked back to his barracks. he stopped at the door when he saw hazel in the back. "hi hazel how are you?" he asks her

Hazel looks up and sees Roy.

"Oh, hey." She blushes upon thinking about how embracing their earlier interaction had been and looks down at the ground. "Sorry about earlier." she continues softly.

Hazel had known. She knew which barrack every single child slept in. She shook her head in response. "No, I didn't. And it's okay, people don't normally see me so it's not really a surprise."

“That’s not true. I see you now. You don’t need to be lonely anymore.” Roy said with a slight tear on his cheek

The man began to cry silent tears, willing all of his awful life to have been simply a bad dream.

“It will be alright.” Kaa slipped a gold coin into the man’s hand.

"Maybe. But that's not important right now. What happened here? Wasn't the revolution supposed to fix things?"

Kaa glanced around. “If you were to talk about the revolution. Here would not be the place. Was this your house? Come into mine. Take some food and drink.” Kaa gestures for the man to follow and began walking the street.

Eventually, they came to a large house. The windows were polished, and shone a light inside that body in a district could refuse. Kaa turned to the man before going in. “I have one condition. Tell me your story.”

The man looked down and sighed. "Well, I was a fisherman once. Then I had some bad luck, ended up away from family, and spent far too long trying to get back. Now I'm here, simply too late."

Kaa chuckled. “Come inside. And you’re gonna have to give me more than that.” He walked in, and left the door open. The warmth seemed to call the man.

It was much more spar let furnished than one might think of a victors house. It had a large desk, a big chair, and a large book opened up on the desk with scattered papers everywhere. There was no tv, no couch and furnishings besides these. On the walls hung plants and vines, covering lamps, that lit the room. They walked past there to another room, where a small table sat. Contrasting the rest of the house, a feast was stuffed as much as could fit. “Eat.”
