Okay, so we know that rep shows up as an achievement but I assume there's more than just that. 

Have any ideas of achievements they could add in the future?

I can imagine that there will be a "First post!" achievement eventually.

There are a lot of things we can do in this new version, and achievements are one such thing. This is just where the new site placed reputation, I guess. We don't have specific plans for any specific achievements, but it's definitely a thing we can do in the future.

Ideas:

Bot Destroyer - Report 100 bots.

Maybe have levels of achievements?

Realistically, many of the achievements will need to be automated. I haven't looked into this in particular.

Yeah, I feel like if it's not automated it's just wayyyy too much work for the mods (other than giving yourself an exclusive awesome achievement). 

This means they could probably only be for things that the site already tracks.

Achievement: 100, 1000 posts

Getting certain levels of rep, maybe winning the day 16 or 17 times could be an achievement.

Maybe if you report 100 accounts that are banned, you could get the achievement that @Experience was talking about.

I am almost positive that won't be a thing that they can automate.

Okay a list of all the things I think could be automated and could work as achievements:

Post count, content count, status updates, images, blog posts, rep, # of posts in x forum section, # of threads created in x forum section, your highest rep received on a single post, # of threads where you are a top contributor in, amount of rep given.

And once other reactions other than like are added, you could also have achievements for each of those as well.

You can post questions on the shard and people can answer. And the person can mark the 'correct' answer. I think that's what this is tracking; how many times you have given someone the right answer.

Note I've turned off that achievement for now until we determine how to proceed with those.

Some of the achievements from other forums I use:

• Member Age
  • Bronze, Silver and Gold for 1, 5, and 10+ yrs of Shard membership
• Thankful - Based on how many rep you give
  • Bronze, Silver, and Gold icons for 50, 100 and 500 respectively
• Gracious - Based on how much Rep you receive
• Helpful - Based on numbers of answer questions 
  • Too bad people almost never click that up arrow in Cosmere Q&A
• Artist - Making art galleries
• Art Fan - Giving rep to art galleries
• Verbose - For total posts
  • Alternately only non-rep Posts
• Invested
  • A special Achievement given by any admin for whatever puropse they feel deserves recognition
  • Users are disqualified if they ask for it - the point is an Admin recognizes some attribute of a user's good forum behaviour they feel deserves recognition. 

Those are the possibles I think might work here (depending on how metrics are automated adn tracked in the server back-end.)

There could be some funny names if you tend to post mostly in one category. (Like having over 50%, or even 67%, of your posts in one subforum).

Some ideas :Lore Diver for the book discussion boards, or Dice Thrower for the RP boards 

 

Edit: having a crazy amount of posts (1000 or 2000) in one category could also give you the achievement.
