She tried to breathe more slowly and deeply. The breaths were still extremely shaky, but her tears began to stop. She still kept her eyes shut.

The strobing light implodes, and Elan appears, glowing brightly. The light fades as he crouches next to Aventine. He places a hand on her shoulder and gives it a light squeeze.

She made no reaction. Maybe MCS could make her hallucinate physical contact as well as audio. Elan was dead... this couldn't be real. They were just trying to give her false hope to break her more.

He sends a string of curses back, then he just kinda goes limp, his eyes rolling back up into his head.

She still had a tight grip on them, but seemed much more relaxed now than she had been before.
