Tayen didn't try to protest, though he couldn't communicate with his hands cuffed regardless.

Tayen let the pain take him. He remained still, quiet, and empty.

Maybe it was all too good to be true.

Tayen did nothing, waiting for whatever would be done to him. Or perhaps he'd be in this cell for years.
