"Seems your love hear is holding up rather better than expected. I guess we may be here for a bit longer yet."

"Erin? She's stil- Erin! Can you hear me?!"

Not-Erin facepalmed. "I already told you that they can't."

"Fine. So, you never told me. What is it you want to do with the energy anyways?"

"I believe I did tell you. Certain business in the physical world, and perhaps a bit of fun."

"You've taken everything from me. You might as well."

Shades. What do I do?

A smile broke Not-Erin's face. "Ah, finally. Well, Michael, I guess I'll be going!" They extended their arms gleefully, and the walls of the canyon began to warp.

"No! You can't do this! I can't take this..." his voice broke. "Not again..."

He grabs Not-Erin's arm, having no idea what to do.

They looked down at him, smiling coldly. "What are you going to do now? Nothing will bring them back."

"Maybe not...but at least I can stop you..."

Mike mentally reached for the magical energy within Not-Erin. Instead, he found a memory.

...

Mike found himself walking alongside his father. He was a magnificent man, though many thought crazy was a more accurate description.

They were in a narrow cavern. The walls were metallic and reflected the soft yellow glow caused by lanterns placed intermittently along the path.

Michael's father was taller than Mike by a few inches, though Mike was sure he'd catch up within a year. His father had always claimed he never would never see a day when he was shorter than Mike.

What?

Michael's father looked down at his son, a proud smile lighting his face. "I have been waiting for this day for a very long time, Michael."

Mike looked up at his father quizzically. "What do you mean, father? What's so special about today?"

"Today you wi-"

NO!

STOP!!!

Michael's father looks to the place where Mike is. Not his past self, but where his consciousness was being projected.

"Hello, Michael. I see you have come to visit me again." He smiles.

No!

Mike screamed and was again in the canyon. It seemed as though no time had passed at all.

What does this do, if anything, to Not-Erin?

Okay

Not-Erin raised their eyebrows at the outburst. "I don't know what that was supposed to be, but it didn't work."

The canyon seemed to get shallower, though somehow it also didn't change at all.

@Experience

Mike deflated.

There's nothing more I can do. Why can't I just stop him?

His grip on Not-Erins wrist began to loosen.

They stepped out of the canyon easily, pulling away. "Ah, how nice to feel the air."

One last try.

Mike looked up at a point in the sky and a confused look flashed onto his face.

"What is that...?" he said out loud.

Really...?

Not-Erin frowned, and look up. "What?"

He's desperate xD

Mike doesn't attempt to heal Not-Erin this time. Instead, he finds the magical energy and begins to release it, allowing it to be restored back to a material form. Mike held his breath.

Is it working?
