The platypus looks at Lily, then walks over and jumps on her shoulder, snuggling against her neck under her hair.

Lilyana smiles at the Platypus. It feels strangely comforting to have him there. "Thank you," she whispers only to him.

"Well, I don't think we were going to be staying here. Right, Lilyana?"

Lilyana nodded, "yeah. We should leave soon."

"It's-it's okay. I was just wondering if you could tell anything magical about it...she has these comas a lot..."

"Always. I'm always here for you. Just let me know." In a louder voice he added, "We could head east. I think there's something over there. I can't remember much, but I feel like there's something there."

"All good things take time." He smiled reassuringly

Vena didn't smile back. She just looked at Eddie with a great deal of worry in her eyes.

"She'll be ok, this has happened before, and it worked out in the end, didn't it?" He grabbed his robe, throwing it over his shoulders. "Either way, we need to leave, we can't stay in one place for too long."

"Okay." She stood up and turned to Lilyana, trying to keep calm. "So, where to?"

Emotions boiled inside of Vena. Shame, guilt, fear. She felt tears prickle at the corners of her eyes and she faced herself decidedly away from the group.

Rallohir saw her turn away, "Hey, is something wrong?"

"No, I'm fine." Her voice caught, betraying her.

"You know you can talk to me, right?" He looked into her eyes, "I'm here for whatever you need."

She wouldn't meet his gaze. "I don't want you to try to handle all my problems. You've been doing that too much already. It's not good for you."

"I want to help you, and support you. I don't see your problems as a burden to be born, but a burden to be lifted, shared. Happiness is the gift that keeps on giving."

"I... no. I don't help anyone by being here. Not really." Without warning, Vena darted away, out of the room and then out of the inn, taking off towards the forest at a dash.

He sprinted after, calling her name, dodging through the trees, trying to keep her in sight.

She was fast, abnormally so, and agile in dodging around the trees. He quickly lost sight of her, though there were still footprints in the snow.

He followed the footprints running as fast as he could, breath puffing out in the cold. He let several knives fall out of his pocket and hovered them in a circle in front, below, and above him. Using the knives, he pushed himself off the ground, hovering a foot above the ground, knives propelling him forward like a wheel, increasing his speed dramatically.

The footprints ended abruptly at a creek that ran down the mountain. It was relatively deep, and further ahead ran under the snow.

He stopped, letting the knives fall to the snow. "Why can't I do something RIGHT for once!." He yelled as tears started to fall. "VENA!" He called, voice breaking a little.

There was no response. Just the sound of water running in the creek.

He knelt, quietly sobbing, several knives laying in the snow nearby. I failed, I failed her. His thoughts continued to grow more somber as he sat. What have I done...
