Kay. So I’m pulling this from another novel idea—this stuff doesn’t actually appear in the novel, though. The Evikains (kingdom on the other side of Nolikar (which is a filler name sort of cuz it sounds like Alethkar)) need to desolate Nolikar completely, but they need to find the source of Nolikar’s unbeatability first. Haly’s power has been figuring it out, but she doesn’t know this, cuz it’s just dreams. So yeah, he could work on that. I think it would be sort of cool for Rylla to start sort of existing separately from Haly, so maybe there would be manifestations to follow. 

Alternately, instead of learning this from Rylla, Ashli could be researching it and come across the info, then send him to Evika.

“Our world has some inherent magic, particularly in the west. That’s important.” She pointed to a spot in the chart right in the middle of a group of stars. “There. Right there. Every night after the Nolikans make another conquest, there’s a comet. A red comet. Where it comes from is seemingly random, but it always vanishes right there. I’ve tried connecting the stars, and I’ve come out with this…” she pulled a scrap of paper out of another drawer and showed him. It was a many-pointed star, almost symmetrical.
