"Yeah." Nameless put down another book. "Lets get this finished, yeah?"

"Yeah, okay." TAAron found himself shaking as he climbed back into his chair. He began to read again. A paragraph down the page, he realized he had forgotten everything that he had just read. He looked back at where he had started, not even recognizing the words there. He tried again, then once more. Finally, he could remember what he read, but he found that he somehow couldn't concentrate on the book, his mind feeling like it was full of dissonant echoes.

Frustrated, he put it down on the table. "I can't. I don't know why, but I can't. I was fine until I tried tapping zinc... is pain from using metals a symptom on any of those, Nameless?"

Haly: “You need a bug.”

"Why are you so against these books, anyways? Don't you read all the time?"

Haly: “Yes. But when it’s IMPORTANT that I read, it’s boring.” Pauses “Ohhhh. I see how that could get confusing.”

"Yeah. It was on the list the infirmary staff gave me. I think it said something about foreign investiture exacerbating the damage to your soul." Nameless put another book down, moving on to one of the last few he hadn't read.

"Got it. Any solutions so far other than 'die'? Because if there isn't... well, I guess I probably die alone trying to fix this, or I live like this for the rest of my life."

Nameless put his hand on TAAron's shoulder. "You won't die alone, no matter what happens."

Haly: “Oooh! That reminds me of Tikk’s photographs. Hold up.” Runs off

"What? No, if I'm going to this Tower thing, you can't come with me. You won't die for my sake. I'm not worth that, really. I'm just a scholar who can't even do his job anymore."

Haly: accidentally knocks over five bookshelves “You know neither of us are letting you go alone! Oop.” Trips, then bounces back up “Also, you’re a great scholar. And you’re worth it. Chill.”

"You wouldn't last three seconds in there alone. Your options are either living like this for the rest of your life, or dragging me and Haly along to the tower with you."

Haly beams “Yep! When he puts it like that, it sounds so obvious.”

"In another dimension." Nameless picked up Towers of Midnight again, opening it at his bookmark.

Haly: “YAY!” Grunts, pushing up a bookshelf “Anyoje know how these were organized?”

"So, no luck with the books, huh? Great." TAAron felt a knot form in his stomach. I can't let them go with me. But how would he learn about this tower without Nameless' knowledge?

"Not really. Alphabetically somehow, I presume."

"TAAron, have you read WoT?"

Uh oh. Please don't persecute me.

"Figured. You'd probably have remembered the Tower of Ghenjei if you had."

A wisp of smoke whispered, "Dune is better than WoT..."

Nameless casually blasted the wisp of smoke with Balefire.

"Oh, so this is from the Wheel of Time universe? How do you plan on getting there?"

I may have to go soon, but I'll be back later this evening.

"Minor changes? Right. Keep lying to yourself."

"I'll just make a gateway. Dimensional travel is difficult without an angreal, but I should be able to manage it heading back to my homeworld."
