Main Page and Navigation

A question for the administrator-man. Do you want us to post major editing things we do to the wiki here, or is this more of a 'hey, can I do this?' and 'hey, can someone help me with this?' kind of subforum?

Anyway, I know pretty much the basics in editing and using a wiki like this, and I'll probably figure out everything else as I get more familiar with it.

That said, at the moment, the wiki is really hard to navigate. The only way to get to the pages you want is to look at editing history or click the Random Page link.

So I'm just letting it be known that I'm going to start editing the main page and stuff to make navigation easier. I'll put links to sub-main pages, one for each of Sanderson's series. Each of those pages should have a general summery of the story, and links to different pages pertaining to each series, like Andrew the Great's more detailed chapter summaries.

I'm gonna need a bit of help with that. I haven't read the last two Mistborn books (blasphemy, I know, but my library doesn't have them), so I can't exactly summarize them. And as people add pages, they should definitely link them up, because I don't really want to hunt things down as the wiki gets bigger.

Yup, we noticed that you added that Navigation. That was awesome. Kerry has been categorizing articles, but I'm glad you have the Nav stuff up.

This is a collaborative effort, so it's great that you contributed.

I'm not really skilled with wikis yet, so while I realize there are Talk pages and things like that, maybe it would be better for this area on the forum to be the Command Center, so to speak.

Anyways, thanks for adding the nav links to the main page! Those have already proven very useful, and it's great to see people collaborating on this! ;D

What? The wiki is actually semi functional? Hurray for not having to do everything by URL anymore!

Emphasis on semi-functional. It's a bit easier to get around, but there might be some things you still need to do by URL. Remember, most of this was done yesterday, and there's only so much we can do in a day.

Yeah.... I had to go find my page of summaries (which I should probably be writing right now, rather than posting here), and add a link to it on the Way of Kings page, but I guess I'll forgive you for that..... this time.

Remember, the wiki is a collaborative effort. I may be the admin, but it's up to all of us to make it great. If you see something that needs to be done, you're free to do it yourself, or you can suggest it here.

Well, I went through and modified the Elantris & Warbreaker pages. Still need to add summaries of the books, and descriptions of the magical systems... I wanted to check with everyone and see if we think this is a good starting layout for individual book pages(series would have to be done slightly differently)... Let me know what you all think?

Those look really good! I went ahead and added pages for the magic systems so we can include those with the smaller blurbs on the book pages; that way they're already categorized and ready to go.
