lordofsoup Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 I am writing a research paper on Fantasy novels, and I was wondering if anyone had good sources I could check out. So far I have gotten: A Short History of Fantasy by Farah Mendlesohn and Edward James, Wizardry and Wild Roamance A study of epic Fantasy by Michael Moorcock, and A guide to Fantasy Literature Thoughts on Stories of Wonder & Enchantment by Phillip Martin. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it.
Ryan he/him Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 "A research paper on fantasy novels" is a topic far too broad to be useful. What *specifically* are you focusing on?
lordofsoup Posted October 20, 2011 Author Posted October 20, 2011 That is part of the issue, I was thinking history of fantasy or something like that, but it could change at any time.
KChan she/her Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 It's probably too late for your paper, but I'll post it for anyone else who's interested: J.R.R. Tolkien: Author of the Century by Tom Shippey talks a lot about Tolkien's history and writing. It's a really good read.
Swifftalon Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 I'd be interested in seeing the results of your study. If you'd care to post them.... *hint hint*
