So what happens at these signings?

Brandon Sanderson will be at a local Barnes and Noble in a week or two here in Sacramento, CA. Not sure what to expect. I've never been to a book signing before so... What all happens? Do we bring stuff to get signed? How much? Is there a Q&A or something similar?

An awesomely amazing mind bending futuristic cosmere revealing tour de force!

First and foremost...you get to meet to Brandon Sanderson. Who is just a wonderful guy and will knock your socks off with how nice he is, especially to his fans.

Seeing as it's a WoT book tour, BS might not be the only guest of honor. Honestly not sure when/if Harriet or team jordan are showing up for this one.

Now, if you're really appreciative that he is coming out there...BUY SOME BOOKS THERE!

It doesn't have to be that night...just save your reciept. Just a way to thank the bookstore for bringing out BS.

You'll get in line when you show up; Brandon will get there and talk a little about what will be going on.

He'll sign everyone's books (as long as they're his books ), answer questions and talk to you while you're standing up there, and even personalize some if you go wait till everyone in line goes first (usually)!

Then he might do a reading, talk about upcoming stuff, or do a Q&A session with fans...it all depends on time really, and he'll let everyone know what the plan for the evening is.

You can bring as much stuff to be signed as you'd like. But try to buy at least one thing there.

Lastly...have fun! He's awesome, always willing to chat and answer any questions you have.

I can personally tell you a few things to expect at the Sacramento stop since I will be one of the volunteer memory keepers for that stop of the tour. If you show up between 4:45pm and 6:00pm you are likely to see and have a chance at participating in one of many contests and giveaways we have planned. While waiting in line you will be able to talk with some of the other fans and, at 7:00pm, the line will be let in until the queue is full. These people will meet Brandon, Harriet and Jason, ask a few questions, get up to three books signed and then can either leave or exit the store and return to the end of the line for another trip through to ask more questions, get up to three more signatures, etc... There will be a number of things which we have planned in attempt to make this a fun and unforgettable event for all who can attend and I personally hope you can make it to the event.
