Huh? Is Kaladin prettending to be a lighteyes, or is Corporal the highest darkeyes can go? Hmm, I'm leaning that he popped up the sylblade to lighten his eyes for the authority.
Corporal isn't a high rank...its below Sergeant, and I'm pretty sure we've seen dark eyed Sergeants.
I'm more interested in what he did with his slave brands and how he pulled off Corporal with a Captain's uniform.

I can't remember, did we already know that Mraize knew Shallan was Veil?

Is it possible for a person with a shardblade to summon the blade some distance away from their body? In all of the examples we've seen, it appears in their hand, but could this just be because this is the most convenient location?
The reason I was wondering was that Adolin mentions that shard blades normally disappear once you let go, but that with a certain level of concentration the owner can keep them solid. It made me wonder whether concentration could also be used to create distance at the initial summoning instead of maintaining it afterwards.
I'd say its probably one of those instances of where they've come to expect the blades to behave in a certain way, so they do. I figure if somebody didn't "know" it had to be summoned to hand, then they could summon it elsewhere. Brandon seems to have a lot of abilities be limited by the user's perception of how they work.

will he be reading in German? If so, post a video and critique his accent.

I wonder if Brandon put the Shard Fork in as a treat for us, or if he independently stuck it in there. I seem to remember posts long ago about a shard fork...maybe it was him in disguise giving us hints.

I've been reading a lot of Wen Spencer lately. Her books aren't nearly as complex as some of the epic fantasies, but they're good quick reads and very enjoyable.

THIS JUST IN: KELSIER'S EYES ARE HAZEL.
I have a lot more tidbits and all of them more juicy than this, but this may be the single thing all weekend that actually added to the cannon. As far as Peter and Brandon know, they never explicitly stated Kelsiers eye color, only that they were "dark", and Brandon thought about it and went with hazel.
Does it matter? Probably not lol. But the moment he said it Peter contacted the wiki writer to add it officially. Pretty cool to ask a simple question that Brandon graciously chose to answer and then add to the cannon story

Since when is Hazel considered dark?

Did anybody else think that the guy in White Sand was wearing an Elvis Jumpsuit?

And the lawsuit has been dropped as of July 2. Apparently they're working out some kind of settlement.

Hearing on motion to dismiss has been postponed again to 6 July 2015. Found a page where a fan/lawyer is explains the motions. http://mobi-wan-kenobi.kinja.com/an-update-on-that-wheel-of-time-lawsuit-1707233225

I saw it on reddit by user: https://www.reddit.com/user/Halo6819
I attempted to attend the hearing on Monday, only to find out after sitting through another hearing that it had been postponed to June 1. Barring work constraints, I will try to sit in on that hearing and report back.

Apparently the hearing on the motion to dismiss 3 of the 4 complaints that was supposed to happen April 27 got postponed til June 1.

Found this link today. http://www.reddit.com/r/WoT/comments/30jhxi/update_on_the_wheel_of_time_pilot_lawsuit/ It contains updates on the lawsuit from some law student that has easier access to the court documents than us regular slontzes.

I find myself really struggling with this. It's not so much WHAT has changed, more that it has changed at all. It's really upsetting to me because I'm suddenly looking at my copy of Words of Radiance differently. This isn't a simple copy edit, the actual content is different. In my version Kaladin kills Szeth, which is now canonically wrong. If I want a 'correct' version, then I will need to purchase another hardback, which isn't exactly cheap.
It's also upsetting to me because I no longer have any faith in future releases. If Words of Radiance needed to be changed - if the initial version of Words of Radiance was really so wrong that it needed to be fixed - then what about the initial versions of future releases? Can I safely buy book 3, or should I wait for a year to see if a 'correct' version comes out? I've never even had to ask myself that question regarding books.
I'm aware how harsh 'wrong' sounds for what is ultimately a few changed sentences, but I really can't think of a better way to put it. Clearly Sanderson felt those sentences were important enough to be changed, else he wouldn't have changed them. If the sentences are that important to him, then they are important to me. However my copy of Words of Radiance does not have those important changes. My copy of Words of Radiance is wrong.
I'm really struggling with this, to the point where I made this account because I need to discuss it with other people. For me it's enough to question if I should continue purchasing these books. I love this series. I don't want to quit reading it. Yet if what Sanderson releases to us is so wrong that he feels the need to change it, I find it hard to faithfully purchase his novels.
I apologize for such a negative post, but I needed to get this off my chest.
We have most of the changes above...if you're really worried about your copy being wrong now, you can go edit them yourself...that way you'll always know how they originally were and the corrections.
I doubt we'll see this sort of thing very often. This was a learning experience for Sanderson and in the future, he'll most likely keep the book true to his vision of the characters and find a way to make the words work rather than put in characterization that he's not happy with.
EDIT: heh...both my points were ninja'd

Just saw a Tor announcement about trying out a subscription based service. I wonder if this is related somehow.
Even better..TWO Mistborn books next year.

He posted on Twitter and Facebook today that there will be an announcement tomorrow at 4:30 PM EST. Is it the SotS2? Who knows.
The announcement has been moved up to 4:00 PM EST. Too long to wait.

My main disagreement here is that if a Mistborn is burning Atium they see the future and essentially become invincible. True, Atium doesn't enhance your physical abilities, but other metals do. Basically if a Mistborn had enough Atium they could dodge everything you could throw at them. I believe the Atium shadows are a few seconds into the future. This means no matter how fast you can move they saw it coming a couple seconds ago and responded to it. I don't see how enhanced speed or strength benefits you here.
I know Steelheart isn't cosmere, but this is the same problem that they have with pre-cogs in steelheart. You just have to figure out a way to checkmate them. I'll admit, not an easy thing to do, but should be possible.

Much closer to release of the book. I usually try to get them up about 3-6 months before the book comes out, about the time that Tor starts regularly publishing preview chapters and ARCs become available.
There's already been two preview sections released, and people were talking about them in the WoR board so there are a few spoilers for book 3 in this recently merged board now.

So...when is the Stones Unhallowed board opening?

I think you might be reading too much into his comment. I read it as the weapon form that spren take after bonding a Knight Radiant was modeled on the honorblades, so when the spren 'dies' due to breaking the bond, that's the form it reverts back to. A sword was the first weapon form that Syl took, even though Kal is obviously more comfortable with the spear.

Try half a king by joe Abercrombie...its brilliant
and Ravens shadow by Anthony Ryan
Is Half a King as dark as his First Law series? I read the first few books of it and decided it wasn't for me. Is Half a King more of the same, or should I give it a chance?

Brandon already writes faster than most epic fantasy authors, he should be allowed to write in the order he wants to write. And we should accept that books don't always come as fast as we want them. Rithmatist 2 isn't coming out anytime remotely soon, but I've accepted that.
I was sad when Rithmatist 2 disappeared off of his Status bar. I think that I'm looking forward to that one more than I am Firefight or Calamity. The mystery of Rithmatist pulls me in more than that of the Reckoners.
I am, however, looking forward with glee to getting more Wax and Wayne goodness coming our way.

Just look a Legend of the Seeker. Great books - below average TV show.
Some might argue with your "Great books" premise. I enjoyed Wizard's First Rule, but quickly lost interest in the series after that.

Have we seen soulcast meat? All the references I can remember just refer to either soulcast food, or soulcast grains. I can't recall meat being explicitly called out.
