  1. Controlled_Slide,

Thanks so much for doing this.  I saw that Nikki stayed til the end too.

For any other fans, Donnie, Nikki, Alice Arneson, Controlled_Slide and I discussed having a Sanderfan lunch in a couple months.  Just a get together and chat session, let me know if you would be interested in participating.

  2. I have the answers to my questions!

Q: "Why did Wayne choose to ride with Hoid on the exterior of the carriage in SoS?"

A: "Wayne likes Hoid, but he doesn't know who he is."

Time for the fandom to explode!

    Q: "Can Shardblades cut aluminum?"

    A: "Well-um-yes, yes they can."

Hate to bust the theorycrafting bubbles but he told me when i picked up my phone that was recording the signing line that he didn't want to canonize this answer specifically about the aluminum and shardblades.  It was asked while I was not nearby so I had no idea what he meant but there you go...  Sorry!

Good news.. I recorded approximately 60% of the signing line and will post any other questions that were asked.

  3. My hypothesis is that the KR abandoned the orders because the orders were being perverted to fight wars against each other rather than against Odium.

In Dalinar's flashback at the keep, it clearly shows that the Knights were lining up to fight ordinary people not against voidbringers.  It had been a long time since the last desolation and I imagine that local kings and leaders were using the KRs warring amongst themselves. This seems directly counter to the philosophies in the in-novel Way of Kings.  I figure it was a mass, no we are not going to fight your wars, FU thing.

  4. I am willing to help wherever the Con ends up being held.  As part of my previous experience I am using to working with venues/hotels/vendors in other states and everything is done over the internet nowadays anyway.

The reason I suggested Seattle and/or Portland is because they are geeky towns that are also tourist locations.  I think if someone were to fly in for a first time convention (which will probably not be that big), it would help justify the trip if the location has more to offer.  San Fransisco could also be a great location but i have always gotten the impression that it is more expensive to hold it there.  While Salt Lake City is a wonderful city, it doesn't carry the same geeky cachet as these towns do.

Of course, if it is in Utah we could probably get all of Brandon's team there so there is that too.

Moving on - If someone wants to do a Brandon fan meetup in the Seattle area let me know and I can plan it.  I just need ideas!

  5. I have event management experience and would totally be willing to volunteer to help out with a Brandon centered convention.  I think it would be awesome to do it here in Seattle or Portland!

I also think it would be fun to just have a Brandon fan meetup in Seattle sometime.  I would love to see Wetlander, Shardlet, Hoser, and controlled_slide again!

  6. Can someone else check again for the 2nd recording from this signing?  I have it posted to the same folder and I can see it.  I started recording again because this guy was asking some awesome questions while Brandon was packing up to go.  It has some good stuff about Diem?? (from White Sand) and Elantris being very similar.  I popped in to ask if the dawn cities were also related and he said No not quite to that.  The guy had read White Sand and he may have had some really good questions that I missed.

I just don't have the time to type this out while I am home and can't access Google docs at work.
