    Me not Understanding the Past
    So…..
Medieval plate armor kinda sucks. Like, a lot. Yeah, it could definitely block a stab or a cut, getting through metal with those is hard. Like, chain mail is literally deigned to deflect those. But like, y’all, what about the transferring of force. If I hit an unsecured object, it will move until it hits something else, where the energy will then be transferred into that object.
So, if here I am, doing my job in a helmet, if someone comes along, and bangs a rock into my head, the force is transferred through the helmet, and straight into my head. The peak of armor defeated by a rock. Now, I hear you say, “what about padding” yall, if you haven’t every been hit by stuff, clothes don’t help at all, so unless those knights were wearing very thick hats, it wouldn’t matter. And if they were, now the helmet is loose, and could possibly fall off, they also basically turned themselves into an oven.
Whats going on here? Whacking stuff is easy, it takes more skill to learn how to stab than it does to whack, and yet, armor defends against the stabbing and slashing, but not that one person slamming a metal pole into their head, giving them at least a concussion and making them unable to fight for the rest of the battle.
Like, Rock > Armor. Padding takes up a lot of space to be effective, and is good at insulating, I don’t see why a rock on a stick isn’t the best weapon available(assuming it was balanced well) the stick gives leverage, and acts as a strength multiplier, making someone with little strength able to hurt.
And like, If I bonked a US in full tactical gear with a metal hammer on a stick, they’d probably get a concussion as well.

    Kite-Flying…. Like a Ship
Yall know what kites are, right? So the idea is basically that. We have giant kites that catch the wind to pull people/things places. The wind is already going there, we might as well hitch a ride.
Well, there are problems, in case you can’t tell. The first one is the lack of constant wind. Half the time when I want to fly a kite, there isn’t any wind, and so nothing happens. Good news though, if we just go to about cloud level, the wind conditions are completely different. If there’s enough wind to push the clouds across the sky, it can push us. Plus, by being so high, we get an amazing view and we’re above most rain and storms.
We have another problem though, this would have to be very light, yet somehow like a kite, and big enough to carry people. My solution is basically to make a traditional small ship, if we cut off all the ship below the main deck, we make the entire thing lighter, then by making the deck and stern out of bamboo aluminum, the light materials and large surface are will lessen the upward force needed to keep it in the air.
Turning/Steering/going in any direction other than the wind will be an issue, but not a big one. We can borrow, once again from seaworthy ships and make triangular masts to tack into the wind, allowing us to go an any direction. As for steering, literally just a giant rudder designed to catch wind, so that it can be positioned to keep the ship where it wants to go.
The only difficult part of this would be getting the ships up to the clouds, and for that, a Giant slingshot might be enough.
