"Oh ok. Sorry for assuming." Kai grimaced at his mistake. "I would still love to get you chouta. I'm looking for a gathering place for Radiants, like Urithiru back home. Maybe we can look together." He didn't want to say anything aloud, but this... person, Skye's assumption of them being a her felt wrong, looked scared, a bit. Nervous. And judging by their clothes, looked like she needed some help. "Hi I'm Skye! Nice to meet you! I like your hair." Skye stepped up to them and tried to shake their hand, though her touch was very light. "Are a girl? Kai is thinking you aren't and it was rude of me to assume." She turned to Reyx, "And you too! What's your name?" "Sorry to ask, but how long have you been in Alleycity? I've only been here a week or so." Kai asked as he followed Skye toward a place where she thought there would be chouta.

". . .Ok. Mayybe we should work on that? You can always interrupt me if you need someone to talk to." he smiled

"Ok, if you're sure." he slipped his lemonade again. "I wanted to ask, why did you want to drown in apple juice exactly??"

Kaiden, The Sphere, wandering down a main road "So, Skye, found me any chouta vendors yet?" Kai was a little less slumped, and a little less grouchy looking, no longer glaring are everyone and everything. "No, not yet." Skye sounded distracted, fliting around looking at stuff. "This is weird! So similar to home compared to that last part of the city, yet so different! Ooh!" She flew up and looked over the crowd "Hey Kai! I think I see another radiant!!" She flew back to him. "Over there!" she pointed, "That ragged looking girl with the frizzy Gold hair! That hair is so pretty..." "Stay on task Skye. Why do you thing she's Radiant?" "Oh! right, sorry. There's a mistspren in her hair! Trying to blend in with her hair cause it's so shiny." "Huh. OK." He wandered over towards Cayansa. "Hi. I'm Kai, and I'm trying to find my way in this part of the city." Skye appeared next to him, full size, with her hair tips purple, meaning she was visible to Cayansa too. She was grinning wildly. "Care to help a fellow Radiant out? I can buy you chouta?"

"Yeah. And I do see the value in how you do it! I just prefer this way. And anyway, if people really want to learn, then when they start, and find themselves failing, they will listen and I can start them back at the basics, giving them a much clearer sense of where they will go! If I were to train Ryn more, if she wanted to learn to be a master of the glaive, I would, next time, start her with just getting the right stance, without any weapon. Maybe start her on some sort of distance control drill, to get her used to moving in that stance. But she would know where she wants to go, and have that goal in mind to strive for!" Kyo is kinda perched on his bar stool now, gesturing wildly, obviously passionate about the subject.

Kyo flies back and walks into the bar, and sits down near Ink, picking up a mug of lemonade. "Hi Ink! I'm really sorry for all the property damage I caused earlier." He grimaced and bowed his head to xer, apologetically. "Thank you for this!" he holds up the mug. "Oof. yeah, make sure to take care of yourself. And yeah, here you can just heal with stormlight." He slipped his lemonade. "And yeah I did! It's not the hardest polearm to use, and she said it fascinated her! I have always found it easier to teach someone if you start with what interests them, even if it's harder than what you 'should' start with. Ask any knitter for example, how you should start learning knitting, then tell them I started with Fingering weight fingerless gloves, and they will have the same reaction as you. But that was what I wanted to make, and so I learned a lot faster!"

"Good job! You're a natural." Kyo set up and struck again, this time cutting twice and getting the third strike wrong, sending a chunk of metal clanging off across the roof. He winced "oops."

"Nice!! great job! Here, lets take turns on these next few. You can watch what I do to see if there's anything I forget to tell you." Kyo formed Skye into a Glaive as well, took a stance,and swung and cut cleaning through the next chimney, and turned and cut back through the top part as it fell. He gestures toward the next one. "Your turn!"

"Yeah that makes sense. Alignment starts with your feet. Point one foot toward your target, and the other at ninety degrees from that. Spread them out so that your feet are slightly wider apart than your shoulders. Then point your collar bone toward your target, and hold the glaive so that one hand is holding the shaft near your left hip (if you are right handed) and place your other hand out at a comfortable distance down the shaft to feel like you have good leverage. Make sure that ridge is facing into your knuckles , and point your knuckles at the ground. "Then just lift the glance to strike from your shoulders, and strike from your hips. Its a kind of twisting motion with your hips as you bring your arms down. Try it!" He smiled.

"It's fine. So, first, where are you swinging from when you do this? Are you trying to pull all the power for this swing from your arms?"

"Hi! I'm Kyo." "Yeah. And dw, the only way you get good is by practicing. So, there is a small, smooth ridge along one side of that glaive. You feel it? That is aligned with the edge of your blade. Now, if you are familiar with the chain of the body, then just swing, and keep your knuckles aligned with the angle you want to cut at, ok? And the blade will follow."

"Oh! Hi! nice to meet you!" Kyo nodded respectfully to Grayce.

"Course I won't judge! This is for fun! It took me four years of intense training to get my edge alignment good. Who is that fish?"

"The trick is to kill your momentum as you land. It takes practice, but basically you lash yourself at 1.5 times your lashings you were using half a second before. Like, if you are lashed toward this building at 1 lashing, then you would lash yourself backward in the opposite direction at 1.5 lashings, and drop your forward lashing at the same time. Then once you are not moving relative to the building, you 1/3th lash yourself up, and drop all other lashings, and you float down. Then you cancel all your lashings once you're sure you're on your feet. And besides, you did really well for a beginner. I just used to rely on my Light to heal me and smash into things." "Now, go try to cut through that random metal chimney over there!" he points with his blade. "I had Pyre put a very fine edge on that Glaive, so you can practice your edge alignment. If you don't line up your slice right, it wont cut. Go try!" He grins at her.

Kyo touches down on the roof of this building, and sends his armor spren back at Ryn, just in case she came down fast to form around her. "Nice job! You're doing great!"

"Loos good!" He placed a hand on her shoulder cause she looked nervous. "Hey. You'll be fine! Have fun with flying, ok?" Then he lashed himself at the building.

"Sounds good! Lets find some rundown or damaged buildings to slice parts of." He sucked in some light and floated up. "Come on! See if you can pick a spot from up here."

"Sick!! Glaives are personally my favorite pole arm. They are just so objectively cool, right? Anyway." Pyre forms into a long glaive in her hands. "How much experience do you have with weapons in general? Do you wanna practice a bit or spar? Or just cut rust up cause its fun! :3"

"Oh. Oops. Yeah I'm a dustbringer too, that's how I caused all the property damage. Anyway, Pyre says hi. Here, lets go outside. Also, what type/shape/size of weapon do you want to try out?"

"Wanna try one?" Kyo summons two baldes, one long and flowing, wide bladed with blue swirls and waves down it, and one straight and thin, with red red crack patterns like lightning down the blade. He held the second one out to Ryn. "This is Pyre. He's my ashspren. Did I mention I'm also a Dustbringer?"

"Nah, its not code I was just bored. Lighting stuff on fire though, that sounds really fun!" He hops up from the bar. "Actually, have you ever used a shardblade?"

"Very fair. I was just causing major property damage not three days ago, so I shouldn't judge either. Well, anything you want to do?" He grinned.

Kaiden, Mistwarrens, some inn in the direction of the Sphere. "Heeey Kai!" Skye sing-songed above Kai's head. "It's time to get up. I can't let you stay in bed all day again. Come on. The sun is out today." She poked at his face. "Whatever. Fine. I'll get up." He rolled over and stood. He hadn't bothered to take his uniform off, he hadn't seen the point. He shoved his feet into his boots and looked at a mirror. His waist length red and black streaked hair was a tangled mess, half fallen out of its braid. He shrugged. "What do you want me to do, Skye?" "Go to the window. Look out at the sun. Then go out and find someplace to get food." She tried to haul his money pouch off the nightstand to him, but you only managed to get it to fall on the floor. "Come on. Lets go." Kai sighed and picked up the bag, tying it to his belt. Then he opened the curtain and looked out over the dingy, grimy, rundown part of the city he was in. The sun did look kinda nice on it all. And it was warm enough for today. "Ok. Lets head to the Rosharin district. I haven't had Chouta since I got here." He headed down stairs to pay his bill and leave.

"Yeah well, I'm not known for making good choices. And the little gremlin of divinity is my little gremlin, so its ok." He looked at the apple sea. "Huh. Why does Ink want to drown at all? Nvm in apple juice?"

"Thanks!" She sat under the stream of beer, drinking as much as she could. Kyo sighed. "It was gonna happen sooner or later. You know she's not going to pay for that right?" He dropped a few dun spheres on the bar too. A diamond chip and two Emerald bromes. "That spren owes me money big time. She has a bad habit of gambling, and a worse one of being bad at it, and she owes me 1300 Emerald bromes, 500 sapphire bromes, 265 Ruby marks, and 43 chips of various gemstone." "ANYway, you said there was apple juice somewhere?"
