“Ok…” Nick sits down to manage his various projects. The backup of SIMON is going fine, but the lightsaber and moon crystals need more management. @The Stormfather, apparently Sleeper is going off into the tunnel. @Ancient Elantrian, do you think an electric signal with intent could operate the crystal?

“Ok then… someone should probably see what’s through the cave that way. I have some raw nutrients that my suit has been IVing, if you want that now.”

“I assume you don’t have fusion reactors. Those would solve your problems.”

“Wait. You have cybernetics that can hear SIMON literally speaking into me ear, but no way to produce enough food for your civilization? I don’t think you need to hold this. I’ll just surround the lightsaber then connect it to my suit by a thread. Any problems that would hurt me would probably kill the rest of us too.” The lightsaber is indeed disconnecting from the suit sleeve. “Maybe we should explore and see if there’s anything else useful. What’s the range on your wrist communicator thing through rock, Larry?” @AltonicKeys

“Probably not, but better safe than sorry.” Evidently Nick’s suit did something, because several “voop” noises and a momentary plasma blade come from the spot on his forearm he placed it. “Maybe I shouldn’t mess with this thing while it’s this close to me… SIMON, stop dissembling that until we can get it detached from my arm.” “I can’t tell if this thing is infinite or just absurdly energy dense, but this is probably more energy than you’d need in a lifetime.” “To start, we should probably use the best constructive energy absorption we have, and just turn the blade on. We can take energy directly once we know what we’re doing.” Nick says, seemingly to himself, as SIMON’s speaker is very quiet.

“Those people do sound evil… these suits are pretty much unbreakable if you know what kind of attacks are coming. They don’t protect against everything at once - one kind of attack would break the protection against another if they’re layered the wrong way - but they’d make it much easier for you.” Nick takes the lightsaber, flicks it on then off again, then wraps it in biofabric.

“What did they do? If I can have the lightsaber, I’ll start making you some food while we talk.”

“I’ll help you turn it to just plain paradise. I don’t know what your technology level is, but I can advance it centuries.”

“I’m going to give you plans and tools. What is your world like?”

“We travel to the stars. Space is not an issue in outer space. I can’t build a warp drive in a random cave, even with all this xenotech. But I can give you a blueprint.”

"I don't know where you come from, but you need to bring these suits back with you. It would save your entire civilization."

"No. If someone does kill another they are typically locked up and given therapy, so nobody else gets hurt. These suits and the technology to make them means that nobody has to worry about resources, so the only jobs people still have deal with exploring and ideas."

Nick looks embarrassed. "Sorry. You implied you'd eat me... Anyway, the crystal plus the suit can produce essentially anything. So yes, you'd be set for life - nobody where I come from actually needs to work."

"That rather ominous statement implies you eat human flesh..." Nick looks alarmed, but continues, "My xenosuit is alive and can grow whatever I need. With the energy from the sword's power source, part of it could grow meat from the air. Once I'm done deactivating the stupid safety measures, I'll be able to grow another suit, into which I would put the power source. I could give it to you, and it would act like a plant that grows meat."

"With the energy that makes the blade, I could produce you essentially infinite food. As is, my suit would likely kill you."

Nick described the death star earlier, you may have missed it.

"I don't know how I'd find any souls. I can try to make you a malevolent AI - I don't know if those have souls or not. I could also make you a suit of armor that could protect you from almost anything, some wings, an assistant that 'possesses' some glasses."

Nick buries his face in his hands. "What is it with you people and demons?! Although actually, I'm supposed to believe in them to use the holy-moon-rocks-of-making-entropy-curl-up-in-a-corner-and-cry. Can I have the lightsaber? I could use a power source for my suit... I can give you something in return. What do you want?"

"I wonder where you get them from... Anyway, that kind of sword is from that guy's universe." Nick says, pointing to Larry.

"Where'd you get a lightsaber? Are you from starwarsland too?"

“The Death Star was a spaceship the size of a moon that had a really really big laser on it. It was used once, annihilating a planet, then blown up surprisingly easily. That was the first Star Wars movie, although not the earliest chronologically. You should try to stop it from being built. It was a colossal waste of resources and lives, and there are much better ways to conquer the galaxy. Why you’d need the whole thing, I have no idea.” Nick was talking to Larry. He did ask you some questions, though. “Hi? I’m Nick Bryer. Something has been teleporting people around, I assume that’s why you’re here.” Nick is a tall-ish young man wearing a skintight black suit with large folded wings on his back.

The blindfold unties itself, flying into the wall again. Veer keeps his eyes carefully closed.

“It was called that because the war took place between the stars. At the time, we hadn’t gone there yet, so that was an important distinction.” “It is quite strange. Unrelated to that, is there a way to make the crystals only take as much energy as they can hold? Or a way to take heat from the air?” “Yeah, I think we can leave.” Nick walks over to the patches he stuck to the wall, and takes them off, returning them to his suit so it can construct circuitry with the copper. “So, when are you from? Has the Death Star been constructed yet?”

Veer opens his eyes is in tugged across the room by blindfold, crashing into his wall.
