  1. I'm so glad to see this post. I've been moving and I only have iPhone 3G access.

What a total missed opportunity for Brandon here. All major religions (that I'm aware of) have a mother figure. Tindwyl was a breeder and through her feruchemists live on in this world. I'm sure she wasn't the only one, but she is the only name we know. I would think that with world building this is something that would have been included. I'm curious to hear Peters thoughts on this one.

  2. I doubt that the only remaining inquisitor would escape his notice.

It doesn't make logical sense. That being said this is a fantasy novel. I'm sure we will see Marsh on the 4th. Maybe we'll get a better picture there.

  3. I've finally found a copy of The Way of Kings, and I'm about to start. I was about to start yesterday, but I just stared at it and got a little bit scared.

Hah I felt the exact same way! After being stuck with the never ending WoT series starting one that large and with so many books planned is daunting! It's totally worth the read though!

I finally finished everything by Peter Brett and Brent Weeks. I started The Long Prince Quartet Saturday.

  4. It's sad to see an industry leader pass. That is because he created so many jobs with his innovations.

That being said he was a notorious bully. He was not a charitable person. Someone recently compared him to Henry Ford. Henry Ford made cars readily available to the public. Steve Jobs made his products to be expensive, hard to incorporate and elitist.

  5. We cook potatoes and sausage from time to time. It's almost exactly as you've described with potatoes but you don't need to add the oil because you're cooking sausage with the dish. Toss in an onion and spice to flavor and when you're done top with cheese.

I tried a fried coke at the Angola prison rodeo Sunday. It just tasted like funnel cake.

These dishes are all really unhealthy though!

  6. But it's bittersweet, because after the initial post the next few are about him being inundated with fanmail and not being able to keep up. Soon the forum roaming will disappear and the hands on author will be forced to remain increasingly aloof. This isn't a criticism of Brandon

I think Brandon's interaction with the fans is what kept me interested. It's disappointing to see that he has not posted here and abandoned TWG long ago.

I don't understand the interaction with fans on other sites like reddit. My only thought is that he wanted main stream readers opinions. Hopefully after this next book release we'll see him answering questions on the forums like he used to do.

  7. Thanks for the tip with the site! I picked up the hooks and some yarn yesterday. When I can find the time to sit down and start will be a challenge.

I love those scarfs (even though I've never seen the show). It was a hard choice because you can knit/crotchet so many similar items.

  8. I want to learn how to crochet. My mom just told me her church has a group that does it weekly. What they make goes to people in need. I might have to sit in and learn.

How hard was it for you to learn knitting?

I started a bender (from Futurama) cross stitch pattern this weekend). It just seems like I would rather learn how to crochet Amigurumi.

  9. My background is in comics and animation

That makes perfect sense. I remember thinking the drawing was a comic book version of my viewpoint. It also explains why I was so disconnected with Shallan's drawings being yours. If that was a challenge for you I can't tell. It looks so effortless.
