  1. "Why are you here?"
  2. "If you don't, I'll have to follow you around too figure it out."
  3. "Who are you?"
  4. "Well, it happens to be my job to know who and what's involved in the town's conflicts."
  5. Carsten didn't attempt to conceal himself. "Who are you?"
  6. Carsten followed.
  7. Carsten entered the crowd, keeping an eye on her. What is she up to?
  8. Carsten's focus died to her it of curiosity. As far as he knew, she was not one of the people involved in this conflict.
  9. Carsten watched the conflict with a strange intensity.
  10. A man waking by gave one of the people loitering in the corner an intentional shove without looking. This prompted an angry yell and a shove back. In seconds, nearly everyone on and near the corner was fighting. It was like a like a rope held in tension all at once have in and snapped. Carsten did not involve himself, but subtly handled a dagger in his left hand.
  11. Yulli, the skeleton child, was... there.
  12. I have not seen the movie, but I think I get what you mean. Though should the mist just immediately kill them, or drive them insane, or something else?
  13. "Okay, but... maybe you should rest. Wait for your shoulder to improve. We could go back to the Clinic for a little while, though I don't know what state it's in right now." @Edema Rue
  14. "Especially not at this point in its history," TAAron agreed. "But... should we go back? If we want to help the skaa?"
  15. "No... My world was destroyed years ago. I used to be a Mistborn, but that was just because I managed to find a piece of Lerasium." He smiled wanly. "It certainly has."
  16. Hm, I do think the idea of the mist being dense in that way is cool. As for the stalactite thing, I'm not sure. I do like the spren-adjacent idea somewhat... Not sure.
  17. As soon as his hands left her arm, the pain began to creep back in. Not all at once, but tangibly increasing. The glow around TAAron died out somewhat, and instead of any emotion in his expression, he just looked tired. "Anytime. And yeah, we should. Are you okay to do that?"
  18. "I don't have bandages, but... I'm sure we can figure something out?" He reached to her shoulder, touching the wound, looking at once focused and terrified. TAAron felt the emotions die, not like they were disappearing or being repressed, just... losing form, melting back into the strange whirlwind of his consciousness. He let them, and the glow around him grew brighter. He reached into her shoulder and, ever so carefully, pulled out the coin. Rue, oddly, felt no pain, just a strange warmth and peace not unlike what TAAron had given her days ago in that quiet landscape she had brought them both to.
  19. Carefully, trying to force the emotion back down, he approached her and took her arm. "I can try to get it out. Would that... help?"
  20. TAAron quickly followed her through. "C-can you heal?" He was visibly shaken, feeling an onslaught of emotions not just from the encounter with the Lord, but from everything else that had happened that day. It felt like those emotions had been kept in storage, waiting to be released and to cripple him.
