I think the reason you might not like the magic is that over time it has become less fantastical. The world has advanced and Allomantic and Feruchemical abilities have been significantly weakened. 

Alloy of Law is probably my least favourite Brandon Sanderson book so far but I did enjoy both shadow of Self and Band of Mourning so I do think you should continue reading if you haven't already. (If you have already read the next two books, please tell me what you think.)

Hi, my name is Naomi and I'm rather new to the Cosmere. I've read both era's of Mistborn and am halfway through the Stormlight Archives. I love reading and typically gravitate towards fantasy and memoirs. I also enjoy learning about history and mythology and often write stories inspired by my favourite myths and legends.
