  1. One day I was thinking about actors for a possible Mistborn movie and came up with the idea for casting Keegan-Micheal Key as Sazed as a joke. But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense and now I'm convinced it's the perfect casting. I've seen one other person who also thought of this, am I crazy? (I just had the thought of having Kelsier as Sazed's anger translator and idk what to do with that idea)
  2. I've recently finished the main Stormlight Archive series (haven't read the novellas) and I was wondering what to read next. I've also read the first two books of Mistborn era 1 so I'm probably gonna read Hero of Ages next, but what should I read after that?
  3. That's the hard part. I thought that maybe the "alive" meant something that's sentient or has a will of it's own, you can't override the will of another living thing. I also believe that willingness is a thing in Awakening, the whole "My life to yours, my breath become yours" thing. The reason I wanetd to know about this is an idea I had for possibly comboing Awakening with the Surge of Regrowth in order to have some sort of chlorokinesis, since plants are so easy to awaken and the regrowth would keep growing them it could be super effective. Then I realized the plants would need to be living and growing for this to work, it can be argued that since almost everything in the Cosmere has some level of self awareness they are "alive" in that way we've seen that inanimate objects have some sort of desire to be what they are with Soulcasting, "I am a stick' and all. But on the other hand Soulcasting proves these desires can be changed and it even applies to plant matter, and I believe that Radiants using Regrowth even have some control as to how the plants they affect grow, so this is a tricky one. That's why I wanted to ask the question, the fact that I can spiral with such a small distinction that could be used to achieve something I randomly thought of during the day really says something about the depth of Brandon's books.
  4. I haven't read Warbreaker, but I'm interested in some functions of awakening. I know that you can't awaken living things, do plants count as "alive" or does "alive" mean sentient in this case?
  5. The official quiz pins me as a edgedancer and a windrunner in equal parts, closely followed by lightweaver and willshaper. I also really like the bondsmiths, but I'm probably way too afraid of heights to be a windrunner.
  6. Thanks a bunch it's a pleasure
  7. That's really hard question, personally I started off liking Kaladin, then learned to like Shallan and Dalinar and now I just love everyone
  8. I agree with you there, I was thinking more about what could be possible with Allomancy and more interestingly Feruchemy. Since, as I understand it, Feruchemy stores a person's Investiture filtered through certain attributes, you could theoretically use the extra Investiture in your body granted by Stormlight to store tons of Feruchemical energy. Incredible strength, blinding speed and even immortality accessed much more easily than with traditional Feruchemical means.
  9. Thanks for the answer, I appear to have misremembered some details about Zahel from a "things you might have missed' post on r/Stormlight_Archive. Though the use of a nicrosil mind pumped with investiture and then burned to boost other individuals is pretty interesting, as well as the widely theorized idea of being able to grant surges through the use of unkeyed nicrocilminds. But imagine if you were able to boost any metal with stormlight and then burn it for insane amounts of power, plus duralinum and even nicrocil boosting that would reach some ludicrous heights. Likely not possible, but still cool to think about.
  10. I forgot to mention that we've seen examples of Stormlight being used to enhance other magic systems, with Zahel/Vasher possibly using Stormlight to fuel his Awakening.
  11. I've recently finished the Stormlight series and have been wondering about some interactions Stormlight could have with Feruchemy. Could a Feruchemist theoretically use an unkeyed metalmind as a perfect battery for Stormight? This could circumvent some of the issues with using gems as storage for Stormlight much more efficiently than perfectly cut gemstones and could even enhance Feruchemical and Allomantic abilities with the extra Investiture as has been seen with individuals like the Lord Ruler using the extra Investiture of Allomancy to enhance Feruchemy, possibly creating an extremely powerful multiple use source of Investiture. I'm sure I'm not the first person to have thought of this so I'd like to hear from the more experienced readers on this forum.
  12. Just finished Stormlight and I need more people to talk to about it
