I also thought this seemed odd if, in fact, the Fused helped kill Odium.

But if you look at the context of what Raboniel is saying there it seems like it’s possible she means that they don’t know the mechanism used to actually kill him. In other words she might know how Honor ended up in a position where he was vulnerable but just doesn’t fully understand how he was then Splintered.

This might be slightly besides the point but I have been wondering about something. If Cultivation has truly turned sides and is now on Odium’s side, doesn’t this expose the Stormfather? Odium wanted to kill him but couldn’t as fear of Cultivation’s retaliation. If she truly has switched then Stormfather is truly in trouble. (Slightly off topic haha)

Is it possible that the broken oath isn't a sudden thing? What if the oath was some sort of complex deal or treaty? Honor begins to "break" it, little by little, and that causes him to begin unraveling. Eventually, the Recreance - the proverbial straw on the camel's back - pushes him over the edge and he is weakened enough to be killed. This is similar to what happened with Preservation, whose efforts to preserve Scadrial drove him insane and eventually killed him.

The theory is interesting but I have a hard time agreeing with this; Honor was the god of oaths, and as such it seems both logical (Storywise) for him to die of this, yet illogical because of the Stormfathers insistence that he loved Humans, and that Honor died for them. I suppose it would be plausible for Honor to have sidestepped an oath, but I doubt he would break it outright. More to the point, even Raboniel (I could be wrong here) doesn’t know how Honor died. If it had been something done by the Singers, Raboniel, as one of the nine (formerly) would have known about it. I could be wrong so feel free to help me out here

  3. Yeah this WoB confuses things… I think it might indeed be reforming Adonalsium, but that begs another couple questions: Who is Hoid really? How was he involved in the Shattering, and why did he not take a shard for himself?

  4. A side note; I do believe Trell might be of Odium. If we agree that Mistborn Second Era is after the first Stormlight archive pentalogy, and considering how Odium talked about having people serve his interests across the Cosmere, it would be plausible to assume Trell is an avatar of Odium. Somewhat more terrifying, would be that Dalinar loses the conflict (Which I believe is the definitive next step for SA) would mean that Trell could be Dalinar, serving his new master. I could be wrong though, so please do feel free to contradict me and point the flaws in this

  5. I wrote this in another post in reference to Lift, I'll post it here too for people to ponder :)

We know that Lift exists partially in the Cognitive Realm too, so maybe that also allowed her to stay awake during the suppression. Also, Cultivation is known to make people grow and encourages it (seen when Dalinar talks to Cultivation). Progression's secondary aspect is growing plants which would link to Cultivation and the growth of all things. Her spren calls Cultivation 'Mother' and this shows that if Progression is Cultivation's surge, it explains why Lift can use Progression. Perhaps it can also be linked to the presence of Lift in Urithiru where the Sibling (Child of Honor and Cultivation) both reside. Maybe the influence of a heavily invested spren overrides the suppression? This could also be another reason for the Windrunner's becoming lucid before the other orders?

The difference that I was thinking of, is if someone was just singing the song, and the investiture was the one being sung to. The difference between these cases, is that you don't start with the anti-stormlight. This does bring up the question if the rhythm will change the stormlight to anti-stormlight or if it would produce some other result.

Do you think that after the rhythm was stopped the pain would cease or would it leave damage?

I'm guessing temporary pain? Raboniel felt pain with the anti-voidlight rhythm but she recovered quite quickly. I could be wrong...

At the moment I'm pretty sure the Odium + Cultivation light is something like / tied to Civilization or Building, since Venli can hear both tones when she stoneshapes in chapter 83. So yeah, there could really be some architectural name for this haha.

I'd like to know what Towerlight (I thought it's obviously called tower light because it powers the tower of Urithiru) actually stands for. If O+H Light symbolises War, O+C Light is probably Civilization as I said, and I guess O+H Light could be Conquest or Exploration or something, and H+C?

You want to grow something with honour and principles; what is that? I also feel like while Cultivation symbolises the growing, changing, spontaneous side of nature, Honour is more the principles and structures people live by, so those two make me think about Scrum Basics and how projects and tasks are sorted into complicated (honor) and complex (cultivation). So to me, Towerlight is Scrum Light. Hmmm. Life is kind of made up of strict principles and of uncontrollable things. Nature is, too. Society is. Urgh. This is hard.

Also, what if we mix Towerlight with the Rythm of War for example? We'd get 2x Honor, 1x Cultivation and 1x Odium. That mix is pretty interesting.

Honestly, this whole mixing of previously mixed lights seems like a flawed concept. Where does it end? it would be a spiral with no end in sight.

  8. Yeah I'm not sure if the whole reverse Nahel Bond makes much sense. I mean, when Syl left Shadesmar she was like a windspreb and couldn't remember anything. Kaladin strengthened her and she in turn strengthened him. The difference here is Maya is damaged in Shadesmar not the physical realm. So how exactly would it work? I believe it has previously been said Maya was an edgedancer spren, would she be revived to that? Because prior to Ba-Ado-Mishram's imprisonment, dead eyes had never been seen before. Perhaps their identity was stolen and Maya bonding with Adolin is forming a deeper Connection and therefore remembering? I could be wrong in my linking of ideas here pls don't judge :)

I'm not sure "bigger" quite, but definitely more intact than most Radiants. I guess though that this would make it easier for people with Breath(s) to form this kind of bond.

Investiture works by utilising cracks in the soul and putting itself into the cracks in the soul. This can be physical or emotional, like Kaladin's depression or Scadrial's snapping people by beating them (pre-Catacendre [sp?]). In Rhythm of War, he gives Maya his strength, as opposed to, say, Syl's relationship with Kaladin wherein she covers his cracks in the soul, here Adolin helps Maya recover herself. Adolin hasn't been through a large amount of trauma, and therefore his soul isn't really broken as Kaladin's is.

I believe that was why they got killed. Endownment (or?) said they broke their agreement.

Odiums said that this would enable another Shard to kill/splinter him if he did that.

I always wondered how Odium was able to do what he did. RoW gave a possible answer.

nothing special about Odium. the other Shards gave him an opening.

the only thing special is that hes willing/planning to kill other Shards.

It has been theorised that Odium exploited the agreement to splinter shards, but since Rhythm of War, I felt that anti-investiture was involved. But whatever the means, it is yet to be seen how he reacts to Harmony's power. But to be fair, some say Harmony's powers are technically opposing each other as he can't act in situations where some believe he should.

(Emphasis mine) This, both the power from the god spren and the fact that they are spren with minds of their own that can help guide the power.

This is also part of it, each order do different things differently.

I do believe that every order of knights can become more than they ever were due to honors death. And with the help of spren the knights might be able do more things easier than the corresponding honorblade work let allow.

I agree with this as some spren in Shadesmar were shocked at how fast the new Knights progressed despite millennia and the lack of the Heralds to guide them.
