    "Well, she'll be needin' lots of flowers with the way 'e was treatin' 'er. She bit 'is arm and 'e slapped her, 'e did. Was hard to watch, even knowin' what a 'orrible woman the Raven is."

    Nico breathed in the evening air. It felt very much like old times. Unfortunately, the butterflies of old were still fluttering about in his stomach and he couldn't shake them for the life of him. "So," he said. They were almost to the pub. "'ow's the general treat ya? I was at a ball last week an' the man had quite a fit. Dragged 'is wife out of the ballroom screechin' somethin' awful."

    "We can go to ol' Sparrow's. Remember goin' there as kids?" He smiled at the memory; Fischer had taken him to that pub the first time Nico got out of the palace grounds.

    "Yeah... Um... Where does ya wanna go eat?"

    "I's okay, I guessin'. Nothin' real new with me. But it's real good to be seein' ya." Nico hopped down the stairs a few at a time.

    Nico showed up a little bit later. "Uh... 'ello, Fischer." He waved. "Shall we go out on the town?"

    "Yes. I was sobbing. And I was angry. About to kill you. But then you said you loved me."

    "I slapped you! Last night!" She paused. "I guess we're even."

    "I... In a way, I've lost everyone I've ever connected with. I talked to my patients. Got to know them. But they always die." She sighed. "So much happened last night. Before you... hit me.... I was having a dream come true." "When?"

    Nico was shaking a tiny bit. He got up eagerly. "Yeah. I'll just... go."

    "Yes. Well. When me father died, 'e gave me over to Ivian. But since Ivian's the king, he couldn't take care of me all the time. So he gave me a maid. An' 'at was 'Livia."
