I got into a bit of a rhythm right around Rhythm of War, so I redid the other three to prioritize symmetry, consistency of glyph style, and cleanness of lines. I also sealed them with clear contact paper for weatherproofing.

Sorry about the double post, but I'm working on the Rhythm of War jacket now. Won't have it fully bound until the book is out, but the pieces are there.

So apparently this is what I do in church during the sermon these days. May have another update next week.

While I love the artwork for the Stormlight cover, I've never been a fan of how their spines look on a bookshelf. Today I decided to make a little art project of painting and creating my own dust jackets for them. I'm not entirely happy with how the glyphs turned out, especially the Windrunner one (the symmetry is hard with a brush and I'm not an overly experienced painting), but overall I think I'm pleased with how they look. Hoping to get some clear contact paper to cover them so they're a bit more weatherproof than glued together cardstock and paint.

EDIT: Paint dried, so I did some minor touch-ups on the glyphs and finished up making the swords on the side into the updated SA symbol. Uploaded here instead of double posting.

This poll strikes me as almost unfair to most of the characters, since Lightsong and Nightblood are both in this book.

Lightsong is one of my favorite characters in any book, period, and probably my favorite of any of Brandon's characters (though Kaladin is way up there for entirely different reasons). I love the dynamic of him being a god who doesn't believe in gods, I think he's hilarious, and honestly his internal struggles are fascinating. I think, most of all, though, I'm super impressed by how 

and that I would probably not have liked him nearly as much as I do if he hadn't.

Nightblood is a runner-up for obvious reasons, but in any book that didn't have both Lightsong and Nightblood in it, Vivenna would deserve a lot more love on here.

Sell because I don't buy the one it's a follow-up to. I don't doubt that he'll unite all the shards, but he will not then be Unity, he will be some variation on the name Adonalsium and will not required to have a specific intent. 

As Adonalsium can be broken down to mean roughly God of the Afterlife (breaking down from Adonai and Elysium), when the shards are reunited, cognitive shadows will be the first in the cosmere to feel the effect.

I don't know his parents, but based on what he and his littermates look like, I think he's half Maine Coon and half Russian Blue. He takes after the Maine Coon side, but most of his littermates were sleek and grey with blue eyes. 

Brandon's planning on writing the last Wax and Wayne book the second half of this year, so we could be getting a Nightblood in the next few years, since he probably sold his soul to the devil in exchange for writing speed or something. With how important Warbreaker was to OB, I wouldn't be completely shocked if we got a sequel before SA4. I bet it will have some priority over Elantris sequels, but I still don't expect it sooner than like 2-3 years from now (probably later). 

In case anyone is wondering, true to form with all Returned, Lightsong has grown to be much taller than the average human from Nalthis...um...I mean cat. Still a kitten, too. 

I'm going to go against the grain a bit and suggest that you read Warbreaker first, then the first Mistborn trilogy. Generally speaking, I think most people (myself included) recommend Mistborn as the introductory cosmere series, but you've already been introduced by SA and Warbreaker is more directly relevant to SA than Mistborn, at this point. So I would read Warbreaker, then Mistborn trilogy 1, then the Mistborn Secret histories (next to Warbreaker, this will give you the most relevant info to SA, but has huge spoilers for the original series), then go at the rest in whatever order you want. 

Nightblood is...a fairly unique sword, but it's the one Szeth was given by Nale at the end of Words of Radiance, not the honorblade Szeth had before. That's why the honorblade never spoke to him but Nightblood does. 

I feel like this book did nothing but tug at my heart strings, but a few are particularly notable:

1. The Girl Who Looked Up. Both times, but moreso the time with Hoid and the whole conversation that followed. 

2. Elhokar's death. He's not even one of my favorite characters. I barely even like him. But that had to be one of the most upsetting character deaths I've ever read. 

3. "You cannot have my pain."

4. When Szeth has his realization the he always had a choice and the stone had only ever been a rock. 

5. Renarin and Jasnah. My word. 

6. This is suddenly out of order because I realize I forgot Bridge Four carrying the bridge back for the last time. 

In particular, the first and third hit me hard because or how what Shallan and Dalinar are learning reflects the things I've been needing to learn and deal with in my own life. 

Warbreaker

Dalinar's wish from the Nightwatcher was to serve the Kingdom well and his curse was that Elhokar turned out to be a crappy king. Forgetting his wife is unrelated - just a result of excessive drinking. 

Ahem. Also, Parshendi are literally Zabrak Nightbrothers. 

Nothing will ever convince me otherwise Idon'tcareifthey'resupposedtohavebeards.

My answers to those first two questions are probably predictable, given my kitten, but War breaker is my favorite Cosmere book and Lightsong is possibly my favorite character in any work of fiction ever. Honorable mentions for favorite characters in Cosmere are Elend, Wayne, Steris, and Syl.

Apart from Cosmere, I've read The Rithmatist and Steelheart (and have Firefight waiting to be read).

If I could be a full Mistborn, I'd probably choose allomancy because it's so versatile and doesn't require much that's terribly rare or sacrifice of myseld (like feruchemy does). If I'd have to be a misting because that's pretty much what it's like at this point on Scadrial, then I'd probably choose surgebinding.

Not yet! I haven't been a pastor for too long, though, and I'm not the only teaching pastor at my church so I've only written some 15 sermons so far. It'll almost definitely happen at some point, though. Sanderson's approach to character growth, the complexity of humanity, and his thoughtful approach to issues of faith are fantastic. The stories are memorable, too, so they'd be excellent for use in sermons! 

I guess that this is a place to introduce myself, which I'm not very good at. I've been reading Sanderson books for ~4 years now, but only just decided to join here as I've been rereading all the Cosmere novels. I'm 25, a pastor, and enjoy reading, video games, and playing sports. I don't really know what else to say about myself, so instead meet my kitten, Lightsong the Bold!
