  1. I can't find the WoB that talks about this. I remember reading that Rayse has tricked/believes that his Shard is Passion and not Hatred as could be defined by the word Odium. I have a theory that the book 5 ending of the SA will feature Dalinar bonding Rysn to Rayse and she uses her Dawnshard to change Odium to mean passion.

Wasn't that something about persuading the stones to return to their bonded state? *THINK*

What if Horneaters have a mild version of this power, because of their heritage with the Parshendi and communicate with spren and talk to them. Rock felt bad after saving Kaladin not just because he killed but  because he talked to a dead/trapped spren(god)?  to make it easier for him to use the bow. And we have seen that spren can create strength in terms of the fact that Chasmfeinds shouldn't exist and would die from the weight of the carapace but with a spren bonded they can.

  3. This is something I asked at the Ad Astra  signing back in march.

Me: As we are talking about design art I just have a question about the star chart in Arcanum Unbound. Mostly is the Red Star in Threnody connected to the red stars in The scar?

    WoB: RAFO!

My theory is that when ambition got wounded in his battle with Odium he turned the star red, we know that ambition is not currently in the Threnody system , and the shard could have left to Taln's scar turning more stars red. I don't know how Ambition is turning the stars red, but I believe he is responsible and is not currently in control of his inveture.

Has it been confirmed that was an Aviar? Last I heard (during the previews) it was speculation.

    Warbreaker "spoiler" here

      Reveal hidden contents

So I'm rereading Warbreaker now. The interesting thing about the paintings are that they aren't made by the Returned. The Returned only critique them. There is an abstract painting that Lightsong sees some images in, but they weren't of the future.

I don't think its been confirmed yet either... but... come on it has to be.

  5. Sorry if this was posted before, I did try and look to see if was already out there.

I just finished reading Oathbringer and something really stuck to me about Honor or more actually about his death. I am at school right now and don't have access to the book and I will edit this later, just have to get this off my mind.

I don't think Honor was Shattered. Or at least if he did, it was on purpose.

    • He gave the the Stormfather the go ahead to make Honor spren
    • Told the spren at the Oathgates to make sure no one uses it to travel, these spren also note that Honor was acting strange in his last days
    • Dalinar's visions would require planning
    • Epigraph # 67 really helps this theory "This generation has had only one Bondsmith, and some blame the divisions among us upon this fact. The true problem is far deeper. I believe that Honor himself is changing."
    • when Dalinar says "I am Unity"
    • I will take responsibility for what I have done. If I must fall, I will rise each time a better man.
      — The Third Ideal of the Bondsmiths[7]

To what purpose or what made him start to change i don't know, but I think it might have to do with something about Humans Vs Parshmen. He decided to shatter himself and become a new shard Unity to stop the fighting.  Cultivation might have her part to play in this by making or should I say cultivating Dalinar into a Bondsmith to "Unite Them" or to reassemble Honor and his shard.

I've actually started thinking that Stormfather calls the Sibling the Sibling because it is NW and SF sibling in the sense that it is both of Honor and Cultivation (saw this somewhere else but I can't remember who posted it, sorry), and that the reason there are only 9 types of Fused is because Odium doesn't have a Godspren who can bind with one of them to make a Void!Bondsmith.

And I agree that Odium being trapped in the Rosharan System/on Braize has almost definitely made him "Invest"(?) on the planet.

That is an interesting concept to think that the sibling is of both Honour and Cultivation, and yet if Odium succeed making Dalinar his bondsmith he could have  planned to use him to bond with the sibling making him a VoidBondsmith!. In the epigraphs they only mention eight unmade, maybe the ninth is the sleeping sibling. Spren do predate the shaterring so Odium doesn't need to have his own, just one that he potentially can bond with.

  7. He possibly could be invested with the third major spren, so far the two other shards on Roshar have done so, Honour and the stormfather, Cultivation and the Night watcher, that leaves Odium to be connected in some way to the Spren that sleeps. This could even be the reason why he can't leave Roshar as it might be a splinter of him.

  8. Mraize definitely had an Aviar in Urithiru, when Shallan first meets him in the Sadeas camp.

Also can't remember who but somebody swore to Purity, possibly could be a new shard.

I think were missing the big picture on world hopping, which is the oathgates!  Things that stood out for me was that the spren(?), and that they were guarding the oathgates saying no one could use them because of the fact that Honour closed them in his last days. who knows if this was how humans travled before the fall of Adolisium.

  9. Oathbringer Spoiler

    Spoiler

In oath bringer Hoid tries to create his illusions to tell Shallan  a story but fails, he asks her for some help and she releases some stormlight and Hoid uses it to tell his story, with Shallan's help. Take what you can from this information, but it seems one magic system can affect another one

  10. It seems there are three main spren on Roshar, when Rock is talking about how the horn eater peaks were created he mentions the god of water (Stormfather), the god of trees (Culitvation), and Finally the god of earth (unknown). Side thing is that I think the leader of the horn eaters, a  tana'kai was actually a bondsmith.

  11. What if Adonalisum did't comprehend his own end? Imagine being almost a god and not being able to see the end,, would almost be like us dying. We all know we are going to die at one point but we can't prevent it, because we don't know how so we ignore it. More importantly not to sure if this is true but isn't there a god above Adonalisum in the spirit realm?

  12. I would like to think that Honor+Autonomy=Hubris, Hubris could even be a triple shard if you added Dominion

    Maybe Cultivation+Devotion= Hope/Faith

Any reason some of the cells in the spreadsheet are black btw?

  13. Whoops my bad meant to say the storm father about the visions, and I never said that the fabrial technology was moving at a suspicious rate, just exponential one. Only reason I think that scandrains could be involved is because they seem to be the most technically advanced race in the cosmere, and its not really based on anything but that, its more of just a hopeful thing really.

  14. What if Odium is scared of Harmony because his investiture is the opposite of hate, and could easily corrupt his Shardic intent.  Hence Odium is using trell(Autonomy?) to separate Sazed from his shards because Autonomy is the opposite of Harmony. AKA we could be witnessing rock paper scissors on a cosmere scale.

  15. So I saw a couple of posts on the theories talking about how the Dakhor monks might have a bigger role in Oathbringer, but I was wondering how people found out they were on roshar.

  16. It was pretty fun to play MTG with him, I mean I never played the game before but it was nice to just hang out with him and other people at the convention. Sanderson even helped orchestrate the whole event which I thought was a very nice thing to do.

    Spoiler

Also during that time he shared an answer about who the Terris woman is in war breaker, after someone guessed correctly in a signing in Poland. Apparently it is the nurse, don't remember exactly what she did in the book, but thought I should post about it anyway. Its always nice to get a confirmed world hopper.

  17. My two questions that I asked were RAFO'd the first one I had to ask and try to remove spoilers, but I still think I got some decent info and TBH kinda happy I got RAFO'd makes me feel like I am on to something.

    Spoiler

Me: As we are talking about design art I just have a question about the star chartin Arcanum Unbound. Mostly is the Red Star in Threnody connected to the red stars in The scar?

WoB: RAFO! got a card for it and everything

Me: When Dalinar is having a flashback to when he sees the KR in WK their helmets come off inexplicably fast, can they summon it just like a shard blade?

    WoB: RAFO

If anyone can point me to where I can put those WoB I would be happy to post them to that thread as well.
