  1. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
  2. He insults you the entire time you are reading it, kind of like my posts.
  3. It will be my guilty pleasure Sanderson books, like the song Eye of the Tiger. Everybody loves it, noone will admit it...
  4. Thusfar the Mistborn series. I am a huge fan of the Stormlight Archive as well. I know I am way too old for it, but I did get a kick out of Alcatraz. What body part must the spike go through to Hemolergically spike a cookie? Would it be a chocolate chip?
  5. Its my ability to say something completely serious and have people think I'm being sarcastic. I do that all the time at work. Edited to add: that must be my Smedry Talent.
  6. No idea. Maybe I'm awesome. What is an ups here?
  7. I think a fan could do a movie and make it work. I had heard, and I have no idea were to even look for the source, the most of the cast of LoTR had copies of the books where they could access them quickly during the filming. (And, no, Tom Bombidil should not have been cut from the movie) It would have to be a cast and crew of mainly fans of the books for the movies to work. I do believe that there must be someone high up in the crew, i.e. assistant producer, that has never read the books so that there is an unbiased person that will see that an explanation of something is not complete. I believe that this mistake was made in LoTR. Who here hasn't had to explain Gandolf the White vs. Gandolf the Gray? I can agree with most of the posts for the reasoning for wanting the movies. I want Sanderson to be given the respect the he deserves moreso than the ones that are getting it due to movies that are being made from god-awful books. I won't name those, just to be somewhat politically correct. I have a cast in mind for Mistborn: The Movie, but I believe that a lot of people here would disagree with some of my choices (especially Kelsier, I might get killed here for my choice in Kelsier, though he would be awesome) and Sazed, though after seeing a comment for Ben Kingsley I may be changing my mind.
  8. Y'all have seriously got me craving cookies (Not Bamboo!!) Thanks guys, I have no cookies or the ingredients to make them.
  9. But I like cookies! Sounds wonderful. yeah, really wonderful.
  10. I agree completely, Personally I think that something of that magnitude would be the only way that someone that has not read several of his books would be about to truly appreciate the scope of the world building that Sanderson does. Let us take Final Empire for example (mainly because I am most familiar with his work on Mistborn). Do you think that within, say, two and a half hours that Allomancy can be explained, create depth of character, and be able to tell the story to someone that has not read the book? I fear in a one book = one movie that most of the characters will be left out, Ham would be a background character at most, and if the director is unfamiliar with the full series Spook could be forgotten as well and he will have to be inserted in movie two or three. Unfortunately, for the movie to be profitable it must be digestible to the masses. For the movie to be made it must be deemed profitable. With Game of Thrones mentioned, I believe that HBO would be a poor choice for his work. No, Song of Ice and Fire is not a family friendly series of books to begin with but I would be afraid that they may push Sanderson's work in that direction as well. In my opinion, SyFy does not usually do well with their movies, but I have seen some pearls on their shows such as Eureka, Haven, and Ascension. FX would also be a target to fire at, I must admit to being a huge SOA fan, and they have done well with other series (how exactly do you pluralize that word?) as well.
  11. I just wanted to say hi, and give a short introduction. I found Mistborn about two years ago, at a suggestion of a friend. After reading the series and enjoying it and Brandon's writing style, I have begun going through the rest of his body of work. He has resparked my interest in reading, I must admit that it had taken a pretty hard blow at one point, as well as my desire to put pen to paper myself. Thanks for putting up with me, I will probably read a lot more than I post. Phin
