The post is a month old, and in fact is derived from a video that is from mid-November, but I hadn't seen it mentioned here: Right now it seems Brandon is planning the focus characters for the first five as:
I'm a bit surprised by Navani, same as the posts in that thread, but I'm also surprised that Dalinar is currently considered for book 5, when Brandon had indicated a while back that he was divided on the 2nd book being either Shallan or Dalinar, before finally deciding on Shallan.
The order isn't for sure though, just likely. So Dalinar could move up or down as needed. Im just really happy that he will survive till book 5!

How about Szeth and Jasnah? Jasnah might be able to get Szeth to renounce his faith and his status as Truthless. He is already having doubts, she might just push him over the edge. The problem with this being he killed her father.

Yes, Odium is a shard.

3) There is no strong evidence for or against use of stormlight by Dalinar.
Re: point #3 above, it's worth noting that Dalinar's plate is damaged in the same fight where it glows and Dalinar performs physical feats that seem beyond what is normal for shardplate (in Adolin's opinion). It is therefore entirely possible that some part of what Darlinar does uses up a small amount of stormlight, but the leaking of stormlight due to the damage washes out his or anyone else's ability to perceive that a small amount of stormlight was drawm from the gems in the shardplate.
It's also possible that he somehow used the stormlight from Elokhars plate, cracking the gems. I for one, think that Dalinar will definitely be a surgebinder. I dont see any other way for him to be so attuned to honor that he recieved the visions.

I do agree that there are 10 per shard, but I dont think any of them belonged to Odium because voidbinding seems to mesh with the rules of Roshar too well. If voidbinding is of Odium, wouldnt it go by the rules of whatever world it's from?

I couldnt agree more with this theory. Mainly because the Parshmen/Parashendi dont seem dangerous enough to even threaten the KR with 10 heralds. Sure the initial suprise would kill many, but then it would be a slaughter as 1000+ full surgebinding shardbearers lead by the 10 Heralds would tear them apart like tissue paper.

I've been thinking on this and I decided that Odium is not one of the three. My reason is voidbinding. The little bits and peices we know of voidbinding suggest that it is a mirror image of surgebinging. Now, one of the shards has to power voidbinding and I dont believe a shard from another world would power a magic system that mirrors another from a different world. I also highly doubt that cultivation is the one behind voidbinding. My current theory is that there was/is a third shard on Roshar and this shard is on the negative side like Ruin or Odium. This shard would be the force behind voidbinding. It would then make sense about there being roughly 30 magic systems on Roshar, since as far as we know, Odium doesn't bring his magic to the planets he visits.

I remember the whole "evil Seons" thing as well. The names are also too darn similar to not be related to the shards somehow. Whether they are splinters, the mind or body of the shards, or something we have never seen before, I'm sure they are related to them.

Oh boy, right now im finishing up Ghosts of Manhattan by George Mann. After I'm finished with that, I'm moving on to book 2 of the Twilight Reign series and book 2 of the Shadows of the Apt series. And I have to squeeze Wise Mans Fear in there somewhere.

Final Fantasy 13! Although it's not as good, in my opinion, as some of the others, its still a great game.

Digitally Imported radio's chillout dreams channel. Best backround music ever. DI radio is the greatest thing to happen to the internet since youtube.

It's possible that the Almighty gave the Knights Radiant their abilities directly until he was killed. And when he died, he shattered into spren. Aren't the Seons from Elantris pieces of the shard there? That would explain the lack of spren in Dalinar's vision. Of coarse, that wouldn't explain Nohodan(sp?) mentioning how some spren weren't as discerning as Honor spren.

After reading the thread by DariusJenai about Galivar's sphere, it got me really thinking about the Unmade. So far, all we know about them comes from these epigraphs

Like Happyman, I was under the impression that they were "jumping" miles high into the air. Now assuming they used the same lashings as Szeth, it is possible that they reduced their weight just enough so that a Plate powered jump would have this effect. I, however, saw it as more of a blast, shifting gravity completely around for instance.
So the plate probably didn't store stormlight then. However, Dalinar didn't mention any inhaling of the stuff. Maybe the plate just helps them retain it and not be so leaky.
I mean, If it didn't constantly dissipate, you could go into battle completely full. Perhaps the Plate itself was an effort to mimic the voidbringers who held in stormlight perfectly. As for how the Spheres are made, it would be simple in a world where soulcasting exists. Just wrap a gem with clay and soulcast to glass, or whatever they are made of.

I think that their Plate may have helped them store stormlight as well. In Dalinars vision, the knights are jumping around a great deal and yet they never pull more stormlight from anything. Now, if they are using lashings to blast into the air, they would run our of stormlight fairly quickly. Yet in the vision, they dont seem too worried about it. Now this could also be atributed to the fact that they have spoken all of the ideals but I feel that the plate is important.

I figured it held voidlight, or whatever the voidish equivilant of stormlight is, for use in voidbinding. But then again, I have absolutely no basis for this at all. Just a feeling I had. We do know however, that all magic systems have to have some kind of energy source and we also know that there will be approximately 30 magic systems in the SA. So, i figure, if there are 10 for the different orders of Knights Radiant, odds are good that Odiums crew will also have 10.

Wow, I did not see a couple of those coming. Taravangian getting his own book really blind-sided me. And another Herald? So great! So the question now is, which one is getting the viewpoint? If we have already met them, there are only a couple of canidates. It's between Jezrian, the other herald in the prelude (who for some reason I can't remember the name of.), and possibly Baxil's mistress.
