Is here a WoB on what you said about copper? I didn’t know that.

I don’t understand what you mean in your iron description.

Everything else we pretty much agreed on.

Not with copper, but how else could it work, you get more "memory" then you put in

Wait, have I not put Iron Turbine on here? I might have only discussed it IRL,

So imagine a ferris wheel connected to a turbine, and in each wheelcar sits an iron ferring. As they go up, they store mass, as they go down, they tap mass. Fasts ensue.

I could maybe change it, but I feel like you could also send your anger to Brandon for drawing that Aon.

Given the Aon system, this particular Aon was inevitable, but I feel it's not the best to decorate the forum with.

Out of curiosity, do you know which Aon it is?

I'm hoping is anything other than aluminum. I work in a fabrication facility that deals primarily with aluminum tubing so any time I hear aluminum referred to as anything other than the most obnoxious substance in existence I die a little inside.

Not to mention that I am surrounded by literal tons off the stuff so hearing it referred to as "rare" thoroughly kills my suspension of disbelief.

It is rare when the processing tech hasn't developed yet.

  4. I feel like maybe we should have a different symbol for the Arcanum Archive Link in the forums list.

Like, it's clearly an Aon, but maybe one less reminiscent of a certain highly unpleasant ideology.

    Sorry to be that guy.

[EDIT]: Also the TWG archive link.

Aren't painspren shaped and sized like human hands in the Physical Realm?  Which means they're probably attached to something rather large in the Cognitive Realm.

I think they're described as small orange hands that just crawl about around the pain. I honestly think they're far scarier than their size would imply, especially if they're guarding such an expensive and powerful object.

Compounds Aluminum: Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me!

Compounds Copper: I remember everything so vividly! It's amazing! It's so... and, it's gone.

Compounds Iron: "Hey, Timmy! You see that huge crater over there? That used to be Elendel! That's when your Uncle, the Iron Compounder, commit suicide!"

Compounds Bendalloy: I can't see my feet! Where are my feet?! Ugh, storing this up again is going to take forever.

Compounds Cadmium: I'm Aquaman! OR "Mommy? Can I be a fish when I grow up?" "Sure you can, sweetheart!"

Remember, when compounding, restoring things isn't a problem anymore.

Aluminium Compounding is not the most powerful admittedly.

Copper Compounding gives you more memories than you actually had, I'm guessing this means details you didn't personally observe, information you had no way of actually getting.

Iron Compounding can be used for infinite power (as a more efficient version of the old "Ironminds on a turbine" idea)

Bendalloy Compounding (and then immediately storing) means you never need to eat or drink again ever.

Cadmium Compounding can be used to indefinitely explore underwater, in areas that contain toxic gasses, or theoretically, space (with a pressure suit).
(I had a Cadmium MAG character who was a chemist specialising in toxic gas)

  7. We know that the parshendi discourage disturbance of their dead, and that bridgemen on chasm duty are among the only humans who interact with parshendi corpses.

We also know that regular parshmen attend to their own dead and let humans have nothing to do with it.

    What if Parshfolk have Gemhearts?

  8. I'm not saying it's not useful. I'm saying that unless it works by providing an equal and opposite force to what it destroys, (which is possible, but would have some really wierd implications) it is by definition end negative. Energy is lost overall.

  9. Do we actually know this? It definitely didn't come up in the books, and I didn't think there was a WoB on the effects of nicrosil, since he was considering a nicrosil allomancer for the next mistborn trilogy. There may be information in the MAG, but that isn't canon, just indicative. I would assume it is like duralumin, only affecting metals being actively burned , until I see otherwise.

in the MAG, it indeed usually only burns what is already being burned. There's a stunt that forces them to burn something, but I'd say stunts are less canon than the actual power.

  10. Okay quick question on compounding:

Do you need to burn the metal to get the feruchemical effect?

ie. If you were Miles, would burning the charge in the metal mind work like regular feruchemy just super powered, or would it burn the metal mind. Or would you need to burn regular gold, then charge your metalmind or else it wouldn't compound or something.

You can still tap normally, this is crucial, as burning it is too fast, so you may get all these bonus charges, but only for a second. The trick is usually to burn and restore.

  11. I wonder, on Scadrial, during the original trilogy, Elend's white suit is actually light grey (I think it's in the Hero of Ages annotations). But as far as Scadrians were concerned at the time, it was a brilliant white. They had never seen something that light before.

Would this perception do anything to an awakener on Scadrial?

Perception is after all very important to Investiture, and especially awakening.

  12. Doesn't he wear it for the climactic fight, something about "wearing it only while praying or doing something important and if this doesn't count as important, what does?" Or something.

  13. So, since I believe it is confirmed that Wax's earring is a spike, what do you think it actually is?

My guess is it has something to do with his incredible marksmanship.

I don't know what metal that would be. Probably one of the newer metals, with as yet unknown hemalurgic properties.
