I will let those I cannot protect die to protect those I can.

It's true that it's not clear. We should clarify this during one of the signings. I am in favor of her having only spike at a time, but all of her spikes would be made of this... let's say trellium. So she prepared this trellium spike early on, removed both of hers (becoming invisible to Harmony), fell on the new one (remaining invisible because of the new metal - it's still not clear how this works), and then kept on acquiring new trellium spikes and swapping them in and out as she wished. So what grants control is the Hemalurgic charge, not the metal - the moment she got too much Hemalurgy in her (by way of bullet to the forehead), Harmony could take her again. And either because Wax's bulletspike was too low on charge or because Paalm's Coinshot trellium spike wasn't made of one of Harmony's metals, he couldn't take control instantaneously, which gave her enough time to trigger her death spiral mechanism.
I am not certain Harmony would have stopped the death spiral. That seems to be a choice they are free to make on their own. Even if he could have, I do not think he would have intervened on her choice to do this.

So just curious as to what everyone out there does. I personally read every book (multiple times) and also listen to them in audio book format. I had never done audio books until Way of Kings came out and at the time I was commuting 4 hours a day for law school so I had lots of time in the car and very little time when NOT in a car. I discovered that when I listen to an audiobook and read it too the different formats help me catch things that I did not. Like sometimes they way something is paced or phrased clicks way better as important or a tidbit I missed because it makes more sense conversationally. I also caught things I read that I would not catch in audio format because of having the whole passage and noticing the word usage better. SOOO I discovered that I did my most complete digestion of the material by doing both, listening and reading. (I still spend far more time reading than listening)

Like the signings, not a huge fan of shopping at Murder by Book in Houston though. I am a Houstonian too! I don't post much either, mostly a lurker, and mostly a lurker to keep from spending way to much time on here, but I signed up after the WoR signing in Houston for very much the same reason.

I think it would have a certain bit of irony to it if Allriane was Lady Truth. She was actually the first name that jumped to mind for me. I mean, honestly, Counselor of Gods DOES seem to be a title that Breeze might have created himself, might not his Lady also have the flare for the dramatic?

Harmony did say he did not control her directly. I think he controlled bloody tan but not her. I thought for sure that he DID control Lessie but I do not think that he would lie about doing it.

It is quite likely that he was being controlled by Harmony as he tried very hard to push Bleeder about Wax because he needed to return to the city. It is virtually a given that Bloody Tan was being influenced, or events were influenced.

I don't think so, she went back to soothing without taking metals. I was under the impression that they exhausted the metals they boosted rather abruptly.

To sum it up in a few words: The ending was a kick in the teeth.

"They do this by arranging for Tan to "kill" Lessie, then spiking Lessie with the Autonomy spike(s) to drive her mad. In her Autonomy-driven madness, she is set up for a collision course with Wax, being careful not to reveal her nature until the end. Then, when Wax realizes what he has done, Odium comes in and sucker-punches him in the same way he did Kaladin and Szeth."
Harmony arranged for Lessie to be killed. So Wax would go back to the city. The book mentions that Bleeder has commented on Harmony forcing her to do something in the past, I do not remember the exact wording. I am pretty sure this was when she "died" Bloody Tan was controlled by Harmony to do so because she fell in love and would not allow him to return to the city. She stated that she could never take him from the Roughs because he loved it there. This is why Harmony "controlled" her. He didn't do it directly, but he still controlled her just the same by controlling the events around her.

Brandon confirmed tonight that Nightblood can run off stormlight. He basically would not say Zahel was Vasher, but, he kinda said he was without saying he was Zahel was Vasher. He then said if Zahel WAS vasher, then he could survive on Stormlight.
As other has stated, he also signed my book with an unknown ideal, "I will stand when others fall."

[OB] What could the Fourth Windrunner Ideal be?

It will be simple. “I will fail.” It a culmination of Several theories here really but boiled down to the nitty gritty. Kaladin will fail. People will die. It is the true acceptance that you will repeatedly fail at the 2nd and 3rd ideals.
