Hey! My name is Patrick and I've at last found it in me to make an account here after mostly getting my information via reddit (/r/fantasy,stormlightarchive, brandonsanderson, and so on) because it's nice having forums to lurk.

 

I got onto Brandon Sanderson last summer (wow it's only been one year? It feels like I've been a fan forever) when I finished the last 3 Wheel of Time books. I thought he did an awesome job and figured I'd move on to his other stuff. I was hooked on Elantris immediately, then moved onto Mistborn, which I loved, and then The Way of Kings which I loved even more. I've also read The Rithmatist and Steelheart, and I'm looking forward to their sequels as much as any others! Oh and also Warbreaker, can't forget that.

 

Currently I'm blasting through White Sand which I was lucky enough to get my hands on and it's been hard to put it down. Going to read The Aether of Night once I finish it as well.

 

About who I am: not a whole lot to say but I'm almost 20, huge lover of the fantasy genre in general, and just finishing my first year of university. Brandon Sanderson has been an inspiration, honestly, to make me wish to become a writer, though I'm far from a good one and only have one mediocre book under my belt. It'll probably always be a side thing if I continue, but I haven't found anything else that has been as fun to do as writing fantasy.

 

Was that a bit too long? Ah well, nice to meet you all and I'll probably be mostly lurking from here on out.

Hi Patrick! Glad you could make it to the real home of info, rather than Reddit (I kid. A little. Seriously though, I'll find things here almost the instant something is announced.)

Continue writing. As you no doubt can tell, even Brandon's older works are surprisingly rusty. You too can improve a lot with practice. That's the thing with Brandon, he writes consistently and that's why he gets so good.
