I'm attempting to make a shardblade for a con and was wondering if anyone had any tips for sturdiness or any general crafting tips.

Wait, WHAT CON!? Have I missed out on ANOTHER big event!?

Anyway, If you want a light an sturdy Shardblade, try using aluminium for a base material.

With the added benefit that the Blade can be neither Pushed nor Pulled.

I like it. PHOENIX con in June. Bruce Campbell, Nathan Filion, Eliza Duckshoes (hehe), and the guy who plays Capt. Jack on Doctor Who.

my plan was styrofoam glued to a dowel but me no think it work.

Maybe a long Styrofoam block, with two holes for a pair of dowels, which you fix into a wooden hilt, and fill with hot glue?

Oh yeah and John-Ryse Davies? (Gimli, Treebeard) I've been awake for ten minutes and can't find my copper mind so I forgot some things.

@Swimmingly, is it possible to shave down said block into the proper shape? I'm planning on something similar to the shardblade at the bottom of Shallan's drawings, I think it might be Oathbringer but I'm not sure. It's The fat one that has the hook coming up off the back (that part will not be on my blade)
