Ripheus23 Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 I'm not asking you to read my mind, I know there had to be something that suggested this to me when I read OB. I remember that it wasn't even like, "Oooh I have a crazy theory that Mr. T is now Odium's champion," but more like, "What! Mr. T is Odium's champion??!?!!" Unfortunately I don't have my copy of OB anymore...
StormblessedSurvivor he/him Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 I don't think that Odium could choose Taravangian to be his champion. When Odium suggested Dalinar be his champion, I don't remember Dalinar actually rejecting his offer (I could be wrong though) it was more of "You. Cannot. Have. My. Pain." And I doubt that Odium could simply change his champion to be Taravangian...Any thoughts? 2
Ripheus23 Posted October 23, 2018 Author Posted October 23, 2018 That may be so but what did Odium say to Taravangian that could have even resembled appointing the man to be the Shard's champion? The best guess in my memory is the thing where Mr. T offers to sacrifice the world to save his own city.
StormblessedSurvivor he/him Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 Odium makes an agreement with Taravangian that if he (I think) helps Odium because Odium now can't interact with Dalinar, Odium will save Kholinar

The agreement is that Odium will spare Kharbranth, which Taravangian is king of. 2
StormblessedSurvivor he/him Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 Oh yeah I meant Kharbranth

He never out right rejected it. Although it does seem like someone would have to "give Odium their pain" to be influenced by him, and I would imagine his champion would have to do the same. So, that may have been the rejection
StormblessedSurvivor he/him Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 I seem to recall that Dalinar must do something "by Intent" for something like that
