Kaladin_The_Stormblessed Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 In AoL Wax says Quote "The Law of Sixteen holds so strongly in nature that it can't be disregarded" Do we have any examples of the Law of Sixteen in nature?
+Artemos he/him Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 16 is a very important number in Scadrial. It's their base number system; it's like how we think the number 10 is important in our metric system. There's also 16 known allomantic metals (not counting god metal shenanigans) and Leras used the number 16 as a sign in his plan during the first trilogy. 2
Ambitions Avatar she/her Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 Not sure about nature, but 16 is used as the base for hexadecimal mathematics used in computer coding. In nature the golden ratio shows up a lot which is 1.61803 . . . . That is the closest thing I can thick of what you might be getting at. It's more of a cosmere thing really, I think.
CalaCrisp88 Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 It may just be an in-world analog to our golden ratio or Fibonacci sequence. R and P created Scadrial themselves, so they likely had some more influence over fun stuff like that
