WildIris Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Hi every1, new to this forum (and PLS forgive me for my unfluen English - it's far of being my language)Do you have any clue why most of the relations between spren & human finish with the human killing the spren (as both Pattern & Syl states more than once during WoR)?and how it happenes?and why "the listeners" can bond & unbond spren without any acknowledged damage to both sides? 1
Ketek Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 (edited) To answer your first question, it actually isn't 'most of the relations', just mainly those that happened after the 'Final' Desolation, due to the Recreance. A Knight Radiant who dies naturally won't cause his/her spren much harm. How does it happen? Well, WoB compares it to someone installing a data jack in your head and then forcibly ripping it out. They're not actually dead; in a sense it's like lobotomy, and it just turns them into mindless blades. A Knight Radiant can 'resurrect' them by just holding a dead Shardblade, and WoB also has it that it's not impossible to fully restore them, although it's extremely difficult without the original Knight Radiant who broke their oaths. The listeners don't swear any oaths, they just bond the spren. Therefore, there is no potential hazard of oathbreaking, and any sort of death would have the same results as that of a KR.
