Hi there, I stumbled across this forum while nerding out on the stormlight archive. I have always loved reading, but I haven’t really sat down and read a novel in probably 8 or 9 years. And then one day I decided I’d pick up a book and Fantasy has always been my favorite genre.

I consulted a buzzfeed list of their top 51 fantasy series of all time, and decided to jump back into reading with their number 2 selection on their list: Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive. (#1 is Patrick Rothfuss’ Kingkiller Chronicles)

I was immediately enamoured with Sanderson world and characters. I finished Words of Radiance about a week before Oathbringer released, finished Oathbringer as quickly as possible and I just CAN’T GET ENOUGH!

I look forward to geeking out with the folks of this community. Cheers!

Welcome to the Shard, I look forward to seeing you around.

A piece of advice, stay away from any and all offered baked goods. For some reason every time a new member takes and eats a cookie given on the forums they seem to turn into a whole other person.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Responding to what my favorite part of the Stormlight Archive is... I’d have to quite honestly say that Sanderson’s battle sequences are quite spectacular. Kaladin would have to be my favorite character so far... I know.... that’s probably like saying Luke Skywalker is your favorite Star Wars character. But whatever, Kal is a badass.

I also really enjoy Shallan’s different personas. Sections with her as Veil are a lot of fun.

In regards to baked goods, I’m more of a gummy bears kind of guy. (None of that sour b.s. give me some classic Haribos) However, a special merchant I know provides me with exceptionally tasty baked goods that make my time spent Playing guitar, gaming, and reading EXTRA enjoyable, so to speak. So those I am a fan of. :)
