What happens when you spike a dolphin?

Can you theoretically steal echolocation with a tin spike? If you can find the correct spot?

Echolocation would require two steps IMO, one for hearing and the other for producing sound used in echolocation. I think tin steals senses when used hemalurgically but that might be all senses rather than specific ones.

Judging by that WoB you can steal specific stuff from animals.with a pewter spike could you steal the ability to be cold blooded? Can you steal the snakes ability to see heat?
