Luka Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 (edited) Is there something special about the Rhyshadium? They are described as being very intelligent. Also, I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that they were the Radiant's horses and that they had some sort of spren bond like greatshells. Could they be important for future books? Rasarr she/her Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 I believe Brandon has confirmed that Ryshadium are, indeed, bonded with spren. As for the future importance, there's been a theory going around that they're part of Radiant Advanced Pack along with the Shardblade and Shardplate, because of Brandon's comment that a knight has a sword, a plate and a horse. Personally, I don't find it super probable, as it seems to me like it implies that a Ryshadium will spawn into existence when a Radiant says the appropriate oath, but it's possible that Ryshadium bond with their riders similarily to how spren bond with their Radiants. 2

Brandon also said that while the Ryshadiums have historically been associated with the Radiants, they weren't exclusive to them. Hence, it appears it is perfectly possible for a non-Radiant to bond a Ryshadium just as I suspect it may be possible for Radiants to not inherit a Ryshadium.
