Welcome Email

Is it possible to send a Welcome to the 17th Shard email after successfully activating an account? I just checked and the only emails I've received are the activation one and one for forgetting my password. A welcome email could direct new users to the guide for general questions, and encourage them to post in the Introduce Yourself forum.

Good idea, but i cant do anything about that i hope this gets implemented though

This would certainly help, especially considering that the Rules and Guidelines page is so darn elusive!

Yes, it is the seventh post of the Welcome to the 17th Shard! Thread. It was part of the Shardhunt quest, and probably the part most of us got stuck on.

I'll investigate if a welcome email will be possible. I may be able to adapt the verification email to this, though. I'm not having a great deal of luck with it right now.

I understand it all depends on what the software will let you do, and there will be limitations. I was going to suggest adapting the verification email if the welcome email wouldn't work. But as you have already thought of that, I guess all that's left is to wait and see what's possible. Thanks for considering my suggestion. I appreciate the work you do, and feel a little guilty about my suggestion making more of it.
