Oddly, this high in the mountains, we seem to finally be free from the oppressive touch of the Deepness. It has been quite a while since I knew what that was like. The lake that Fedik discovered is below us now - I can see it from the ledge. It looks even more eerie from up here, with its glassy - almost metallic - sheen. I almost wish I had let him take a sample of its waters. Perhaps his interest was what angered the mist creature that follows us. Perhaps...that was why it decided to attack him, stabbing him with its invisible knife. Strangely, the attack comforted me. At least I know that since another has seen it. That means I'm not mad. The mist creature sounds a lot like Leras and we know that Leras carries a knife but Leras cannot attack anyone. Is this just an error? Or something very important and suspicious? 1
Yata he/him Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 (edited) There are two possibilities: 1) It never happened and it's part of Ruin's text change to made Vin don't trust of Leras 2) It was Ruin who emulate the Mist Spirit (as He did in the trilogy) but I am unsure Ruin could do this while He is trapped. Of course in that specific istance, Alendi and his friends was almost on the threeshold of Ruin's perpendicularity therefore maybe Ruin may gather some "extra strenght" there. The pool described being Ruin's Shardpool This would be in the same manner it attacked Elend at the Well of Ascension to force Vin into using the power of the WoA instead of releasing it. I don't want to made you Spoiler you. But the Scene in the Well was a "special case" beyond what Leras could usually do.

I don't really mind since I'm probably not going to read Secret History until the Arcanum Unbound comes and I've seen enough information about it around anyways.
