Hearty_Joe he/him Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 In "Steelheart" Right before he was killed, Deathpoint reached towards Steelheart's neck assumedly to use a secondary power of some sort. Anyone else notice that Calamity touches Prof's neck to steal his abilities? I'm thinking maybe Deathpoint was an "Assumer". I'm sure there are many Epic powers that operate through touch, but Deathpoint and Calamity both used the neck. I realize Megan was touched on the arm, but I still am just assuming Deathpoint was an "Assumer". Now, If Deathpoint was indeed an "Assumer" then had he touched Steelhearts neck, would Steelheart's invulnerability would have protected him from having his invulnerability stolen? 5
skaa he/him Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) Sparks! I assumed from the title that you had a WoB or something. I like the theory that Deathpoint could have defeated Steelheart using his second ability, so have an upvote! Oh wait, you were just asking if an Assumer could take Steelheart's power. Maybe a strong one. Certainly Calamity could do it. Edited February 28, 2016 by skaa 2
Young Bard he/him Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 It all depends on whether or not you classify Steelheart losing his powers as an 'attack'. If you don't, then his abilities wouldn't activate.
Blackhoof Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Well, given how certain Wiper is that she can defeat Larcener (before dying) it is likely that her power could have nullified some (if not all) Prime Invincibilities. So we have a precedent, so I wouldn't discount the likelihood of some Assumers being able to steal passive abilities like that. Larcener certainly did, and it wasn't considered strange. 1
