Chlehrma Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Also, short of lerasium, there's no way for someone who has one allomantic ability to gain the rest. Sazed gave spook the full load at Kelsier's request. There is nothing to stop him from doing so again.

Kind of a let down, though, to have a big Deus ex Sazed up there to solve problems. I like Wax as he is - plus, he's just overpowered enough already with his ironminds. You'd think he would store in those more, like when he's about to hit the ground.

Wax, just as he is, is pretty awesome. Part of what makes him such a compelling character is that he is not yet another super powerful mistborn. It makes it so the story can be gripping without the introduction of antagonists of still greater power. It would still be interesting if he got spiked. Now that Hemalurgy is not linked to Ruin, but to Harmony, I am curious to see just how it will function. Will the bearers of spikes be more prone to seeking balance or will they still act like a thing of Ruin, seeking to destroy?

"barring direct Shardic intervention" is the caveat to literally everything on these fora. Cultivation could presumably make Kaladin a Mistborn if she felt like it.

For example, those earrings that Pathians wear open them to suggestion every time they wear them. Hemalurgical creations did not necessarily try to destroy unless ruin started telling them to.

I disagree. I think it'd be far easier for Preservation, I think it would take less effort for Preservation, but we know any power source can power any system, we know Ruin could power allomancy had he chosen to, and I think the Shards are, functionally, Gods. I can't prove it, but I'd be very surprised if she couldn't. I believe that "direct Shardic intervention" is a mind-numbingly powerful thing in the cosmere.
