Rholiday Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 (edited) Brandon Sanderson is the only non-Robert in the top 4 spots of my all time favorite writers. Robert E. Howard, though dead long before I was even that proverbial twinkle in my father's eye, inspired me with the intensity that he brought to his characters and plots. Robert Jordan was also a fan of Robert E. Howard, and did him proud by becoming a fantasy icon in his own right. The third Robert in my top four is Robert Marcum, and although not a scifi or fantasy writer, he has an honesty and purity to his writing that has me hooked. Finally, Brandon Sanderson has a prolific imagination and a skill for storytelling that rivals Shakespeare (in a scifi/fantasy sort of way), and I find myself searching for his works like a miner pans for gold. I'm often rewarded with a priceless nugget for my efforts. Perhaps he earns a spot among the Roberts for completing Jordan's Wheel of Time series. Edited October 10, 2015 by Rholiday 8
