Hi all!

I've been a fan of Sanderson since I read Elantris back when I first say on the Borders bookshelf.  Alas, Borders is no more, but Sanderson still rules.

I can never decide which of his books are my favorite, but I often lean towards Warbreaker.  Then again, I've reread each of his books a number of times at this point, so really, I have no idea.

Also, I really need the next Way of Kings to come out or I might explode.

Thanks to all the High Mucky Mucks who set up this forum. Hopefully, it will help me stay stable and less-explosive.

Hey, and welcome to 17th Shard!

Huh, a Warbreaker fan? I think this is the first time that I've seen anyone list Warbreaker as their favorite of Brandon's. What did you like best about it?

And you're in good company, I'm about ready to explode waiting for Words of Radiance as well.

I really liked the "politics of the gods" aspect of the book.  Its fairly rare to find stories where the supernatural being's point of view is represented so openly.  Maybe in one or two Lovecraft stories and the like, but otherwise, I found it a new perspective.

Also, the Investiture method, or I guess "magic system" in it also felt original.  I can't seem to find another fantasy/sci-fi story with a similar concept.

In short, it felt like a more original story than others I've read.  Although, I'd be lying if I didn't say that all of the Cosmere stories are great!

That's very interesting. I liked best listening to Lightsong try to pick apart his own theology and Llarimar's patient explanations as to why Lightsong was wrong.
